Just in time for the most important fair of the boating world OCTAGON Yachts presents the long and well-kept secret: The first yacht of the series will be presented to the public. More than a year ago it has started with intensive planning, has now become an efficient, at the same moment sporty and impressive motor yacht.
As is so often the idea was born out of necessity, not to find exactly the yacht, which corresponded to the ideas of a sophisticated power catamaran. From this the idea for the Octagon i54PC was born, with the aim not only doing it differently, just built it better.
Before the boat builders of Krake catamarane could begin their job, the Hamburg based yacht designer Udo A. Hafner of iYacht was at work. For months they have sketched and calculated, have models built and analyzed. From the early beginning, the owner and shipyard were involved and it has drawn together the first 16m version:
Eight guests are accommodated in four similar cabins each with its own head, showers and mattresses in standard household size were integrated. In the salon you can enjoy a great panoramic view. The glasses bulkhead aft with a central pantry is as new as the centrally located lounge. A retractable TV, a fireplace in front, and a clearly arranged helm with two desks, complete the superior space.
On deck, the crew moves safely across the wide side decks and finds space on the couches at the bow area. Up to two wave runners fit in the stern garages, the dinghy in between.
Taking one of the symmetrically arranged and well proportioned stair cases you enter the flybridge with her approximately 35m ² (!) living space. The helm is centrally located, next to a sofa next to each a wetbar with refrigerator, grill and sink. The circular seating for eight people is almost identical as in the saloon, sternwards is completed with two sun deck space for four guests
One of the highlights of OCTAGON Power Catamarans is the retractable hardtop:
The skipper closes the entire upper deck waterproof with the hard top by pressing a button. This leaves the flying bridge dry and clean, pillows can remain in place, there must be no tent installed.
The goals are clear, OCTAGON Yachts wants to convince with sophisticated vessels that offer comfort and space, without sacrificing safety and efficiency. Aware of the aim is not a strict serial construction; OCTAGON builds at a manufactory challenging projects and understands the experience behind.
The owner can incorporate his wishes; there is a strong emphasis on sustainable building with no harmful materials and highest quality workmanship. For the structure a monocoque design is chosen, in which hull and deck are joined together seamlessly. There are several sections of each hull fitted with watertight bulkheads laminated. Particularly exposed areas like the bow and the keel are reinforced with carbon (aramide) fibre laminates.
Both versions - OCTAGON i54PC with 16.20 m length and four meters longer version OCTAGON i66PC – are predestined as a charter yacht with her space. An appropriate set-up and specification are provided.
Excited we are looking forward to present the OCTAGON i66PC at Dusseldorf boatshow.
The fair takes place 21st until 29th of January 2012, you find OCTAGON Yachts at booth 5D45 in hall #05.
