New Selene 42 Eurodeck: The best of both worlds..

Selene 42 Eurodeck

Selene Trawlers are built for the open water; the coasts, the seas and the oceans. With their solid construction and technology, they ensure their owners a safe passage in all conditions. In addition, the trawlers are exceptionally comfortable and fully equipped for pleasant long stays on board. The Selene 42 was specifically developed for inland cruising on both coastal waters and larger inland waters. Now the new Selene 42 Eurodeck offers the best of both worlds, combining the comfort and safety of the larger Selene trawlers with optimal ease of operation and the ability to explore inland waters, rivers and channels as well.

The Selene 42 Eurodeck has an overall length 13.70 m, a beam of 4.42 m and a draught of 1.42 m. The most noticeable feature when stepping onboard is her spacious aft deck and large saloon, which includes a comfortable seating area as well as a galley and steering position. The seating area consists of a large leather-covered settee opposite two easy chairs, a foldable table with adjustable height, and a TV that is concealed in the ceiling in a unique way when not being used.

The galley has a sizeable Corian worktop and can be equipped with various appliances such as a refrigerator, electric cooker, microwave, oven and dishwasher. The owner can also choose between two different kitchen layouts: A corner layout or a single-line layout. The galley offers plenty of storage space as well. Adjacent to the galley on the starboard side is a steering position which offers 360-degree views for optimal safety. The dashboard includes several navigation displays that can be installed to the owner’s liking.

The interior has a stylish teak or cherry finish with large windows that create a light and open atmosphere. A major benefit is that the floor from the steering position to the aft deck is at the same level, ensuring splendid outside views from every location.

Four steps lead from the saloon to the lower-lying part of the yacht in which the owner’s cabin with a free-standing double bed is situated forward. The guest cabin on the starboard side has two single beds and is situated across from a separate bathroom with shower.

A solid stainless steel staircase leads from the aft deck to the very spacious top deck. In addition to a comfortable steering position, the luxurious flybridge includes a large L-shaped sofa, a table, a sink and the option to install an electric grill and fridge, making this the ideal spot in warmer weather conditions. The flybridge also has space for a tender of around three metres which can be easily lifted into the water to port or starboard using the antenna mast and electric winches on the boom.

Its Deep Hull design ensures that the Selene 42 Eurodeck probably has the most spacious engine room in its class, giving owners all the space they need for maintenance on the main engine and generator. It also provides a clear overview of the various technical systems which are similar to the ones in other yachts of the Selena range, including double fuel filters, double algae filters, an automatic fire-fighting system, an ESI fuel polishing system and the Reverso oil change system. Taken as a whole, these impressive systems further contribute to the safety and comfort of the owner and crew.

Selene Trawlers have been built at JetTern Marine in China since 1998. The yard owner and designer of the trawlers is Howard Chen who hired the renowned American yachtbuilder Ted Hood for the development of the facility. JetTern Marine now has two state-of-the-art construction halls and is in the top three trawler builders worldwide.

Selene Trawlers have been voted ‘Trawler of the Year’ in the USA on several occasions, while in Europe the Selene 60 was nominated for the ‘European Powerboat of the Year’. For the new Selene Ocean Explorer series, the yard has entered into an exclusive partnership with the renowned Dutch designer Guido de Groot.
