Everyone at KBR wishes you all a very Happy New Year!! May it be everything you want it to be.
We had a lovely evening last night, with a BBQ by the pool, followed by an awesome firework display on the floating jetty. It was a fantastic night, but not too late, as everyone wanted to get up to go diving on the next day. What better way to start your year than with a great dive at KBR!!
It has been another wonderful year at KBR for Barb and myself. The diving here is simply the best we’ve ever experienced. We been here nearly three years now and we still go diving everyday and we still find critters and behaviour we have never seen before. There seems to be an endless variety of creatures here, it is impossible to get bored.
And on top of incredible diving, we again have to thank the owners, Mark and Kathryn Ecenbarger, for making all this possible. And we have to thank Linda, Beary and Ais, the Resort Managers, who keep everything running so smoothly. And we have to thank all the Restaurant/Kitchen/Ground/Maintenance/Housekeeping/Security Staff who work so tirelessly…and last but not least, the Dive Team, the Guides and Captains, who are the best bunch of guys we could ever hope to work with. The guides, day after day, amaze me with the things they find. They have superhuman eyesight!! So a round of applause for the guides Liberty, Ade, Jeff, Jony, Risman, Rony, Ungke and Jenly and the captains Alfrets, Stenly, Nando, Irfin, Irwan and Fian and not forgetting my equipment maintenance specialist Junior. You are the best!!!
It’s almost impossible to pick a ‘best’ moment or dive from 2012. There were so many. I think, for me, the highlight, or at least the thing I got most excited to see, was the Pygmy Squid laying her eggs. For Barb is was the Blue Ring Octopus sitting on top of the orange Painted Frogfish.
The last week of the year has been great and Barb has got her home-made snoot out again and taken some wonderful photos.
