UAE shipyard Gulf Craft cemented its global success in Cannes last month, picking up a World Yacht Trophy for “Shipyard of the Year 2014.”
Notis Menelaou, Sales Manager of Gulf Craft received the award on behalf of the company from Sam Richomme, Group CEO & Publisher of LuxMedia Group, the French publishing group behind the awards – considered amongst the most prestigious accolades in marine circles. The awards ceremony was held in September at the Carlton Hotel at the Cannes Yachting Festival.
“The past year has seen us truly arrive on the global stage, with several high-profile superyacht deliveries and the achievement of a top 10 position among the superyacht building shipyards of the world, according to the 2013 Global Order Book,” said Erwin Bamps, Chief Executive Officer, Gulf Craft.

The World Yacht Trophies are judged by a panel of experts made up of highly qualified members of the steering committee of the LuxMedia publishing network – publishers of luxury, lifestyle and boating titles such as Yachts Emirates, Yachts Qatar, Yachts Lebanon, Yachts and Boats, Yachts Russia, Yachts Croatia and Boats Arabia amongst others. The expert panel was entrusted with the task of selecting and evaluating the yachts and the winners for each category.
