Here we go again! Since mid-June the worldwide travel ban for tourists has been lifted again – at least partially. So the holiday season can begin, even if the destinations have shifted a bit. Although the Maldives are not yet open, diving in Europe is already possible. Italy, Greece and Croatia are ready and waiting for you with plenty of fantastic dive spots in Europe.

Of course, the new hygiene and safety rules are also in place at the dive centre. Although the maximum occupancy rate of 50% poses difficulties for the organizers, it has a very pleasant side effect for the divers: with dive excursions restricted to small groups of up to six people, including the guide, every dive automatically has a touch of exclusivity. 

“This year, diving holidays with hotel accommodations will probably be the model of choice”, says Timo from Charly Reisen. “Many destinations have already opened up again and we’re happy to give our divers a chance to get under water at all. In countries like Croatia there still aren’t a lot of diving safaris, maybe three or four ships, and they get fully booked long in advance.” He ventures an optimistic prognosis for more distant destinations: “I’m firmly convinced that we’ll be back in the Maldives by late summer or autumn.”
