In this seven-hour seminar, important topics related to cruise sailing will be covered in a compact and practice-oriented way - for example basic maneuvers, sailing trim, trip planning with the weather, anchor practice, night cruises, navigation or seasickness.
In addition to seminar initiator and circumnavigator Sönke Roever, other top-class speakers will pass on high-quality information and valuable tips to the participants. No matter whether you have many years of experience as a skipper or are a sailing newcomer, you will learn something here!
Seminar including trade fair visit
The seminar will take place on the exhibition grounds of boot Düsseldorf. Participation in the seminar costs 95,- Euro per person. An accompanying person pays 50,- Euro. In addition to attending the seminar, this includes admission to the trade fair for the entire weekend as well as a snack, water and coffee during the seminar. Program, Speakers & Schedule
After the welcome by the director of boot Düsseldorf, Petros Michelidakis, at 12:30, there will be a lecture by the founder and editor-in-chief of BLAUWASSER.DE, Sönke Roever, on the topic "How to maneuver a yacht". A lunch break is scheduled for 13:45. After lunch, at 14:30, there will be a talk about "Sail trim" by master sail maker, boat designer and builder Bjarne Lorenzen.
Circumnavigator Sönke Roever will give a talk about "Anchoring a yacht", followed by coffee break. After the coffee break, the popular meteorologist Dr. Meeno Schrader will talk about "How to plan a cruise with the weather".
At 16:45 another coffee break is scheduled, followed by a talk about the not very pleasant, but important topic "Dealing with sea sickness" by long time sailor Dr. Stefanie Kramke at 17:00.
Afterwards, Sönke Roever will cover the very exciting topic of "Sailing at night", which can be a great experience and a real highlight of your cruise with the right planning!
At 18:15 famed author Jimmy Cornell will give the final talk of the seminar on "The main factors that can contribute to the success or failure of a voyage", Jimmy sailed over 200.000 nautical miles all around the world and shares his wealth of experience with the seminar attendees.
