A highlight for the sailing youth is certainly the annual Young Europeans Sailing Regatta in Kiel at Whitsun. Like Kiel Week it is also supported by boot Düsseldorf, and often called the "Kiel Week of the Young Sailors". About 650 young sailors from more than ten nations show their skills in the classes 29, 420, 470 M/W, 505, Europe, Laser 4.7, Laser Std. M, Laser Rad. W, Laser Rad. M and Pirate.
Since 2015 the regatta takes place in the Olympic Center Kiel-Schilksee and convinces with a successful concept. The organising clubs, the Kiel Yacht-Club (KYC) and the North German Regatta Association (NRV), provide not only professional sailing on the water, but also an entertainment programme on land tailored to the target group.
Since 2012 boot Düsseldorf has been providing the highlight of the Young Europeans Sailing ashore with an outdoor skimboard course right next to the Regattahaus in Schilksee. All sailors and visitors of the regatta event will have the opportunity to try this sport free of charge. Boards, neoprene suits and helmets for the more daring stunts will be provided on site and professional skimboarders from the Secret Spot surf shop in Kiel will give the necessary instructions to beginners.
The Ch!ll Out Zone in the Vaasahalle has also been an integral part of the youth event for years. Here the sailors can surf the Internet free of charge via Wi-Fi in a relaxed atmosphere with music and view the pictures of the event. Thanks to the support of boot Düsseldorf, the physical well-being of the young sailors after the regattas from Saturday to Monday evening is also provided here at fair prices. Furthermore, thanks to the support of the Düsseldorf trade fair, the sailors receive an extensive wind forecast every day from Wetterwelt GmbH in Kiel - a service that provides the sailors with important information for the regatta day and determines the tactics for the day.
