The T240LG of the New Zealand brand TAKACAT celebrates its trade fair premiere at boot 2019 in the Düsseldorf exhibition halls.
The TAKACAT T240LG, specially designed as a catamaran dinghy, stands out due to its open bow for easy entry/exit and its very low weight of just 20 kg. The T240LG is a light dinghy and can be easily stowed on or below deck in the carrying bag provided, for example on sailing and motor yachts. Due to its low weight, the TAKACAT T240LG is not only interesting as a tender or dinghy, but is also particularly suitable for carrying in motorhomes or caravans.
High flexibility The T240LG can be equipped with an outboard motor of up to 6 hp, optionally with a Torqeedo Travel 1003 electric outboard motor. The use of an electric outboard has the advantage that it can be stowed away in its carrying bag without having to pay attention to a special position and possible leakage of petrol or engine oil. Thanks to the integrated rearview mirror, the Takacat T240LG fits rolled up, including the high-pressure floor, into a carrying bag (dimensions: 100 x 60 x 40cm) and thus represents a very flexible solution for a dinghy.
Advantages of the catamaran hull The two catamaran tubes of the TAKACAT T240LG, each 41 centimetres in diameter, do not dampen performance as much as on monohull inflatable boats. In fact, the large volume tubing increases the TAKACAT's performance, because the low resistance of the catamaran hull design guarantees a smooth ride, high stability and thus low fuel or power consumption when using electric outboards.
