Visually, the new Bente 39 resembles the design of its smaller and very successful sister Bente 24, but the concepts of the two yachts are fundamentally different.
The concept of the Bente 24 is tailored to sailing in coastal waters, however, the new 11.90 metre long Bente 39 is based on the French Open Class concept and is designed for long and blue water cruises, and thanks to the design of judel/vrolijk & co it offers significantly more living comfort than the French models.
Three versions planned Striking features, such as the hull design with a negative double-bend bow and double chines, by judel/vrolijk & co, and the borrowings of modern ocean-going regatta yachts, such as the wide stern with double rudder system with two steering positions, which can optionally be replaced by a double tiller steering system, and the omission of teak on deck in favour of super non-slip surfaces, for safe movement on deck in all weather conditions. The Bente 39 is planned in three initial versions: as a standard boat, as a regatta version and as an Ocean Challenger.
360° panoramic view Another eye-catcher is also the Bente 39's deckhouse, called Dodger. The Dodger's self-supporting carbon fibre structure is glazed all around and thus offers a 360° panoramic view. On request, a protected helmstand can be integrated into the Dodger of the 39, which gives the saloon even more volume. The Dodger's aft overhang also provides additional protection for the crew in the cockpit against splashing water and wind. The steering positions at the stern of the 39 are mounted on a kind of platform, allowing the skipper to see over the deck saloon and keep an eye on what's going on around the yacht.
Living space for six persons Below deck the Bente 39 seems rather spartan, but with its bright and friendly interior and large hull windows it offers a comfortable living space. The saloon is generously proportioned and can be converted into a sleeping berth for two if required. A double cabin in the foredeck and an additional double cabin aft provide comfortable space below deck for a further four persons while still leaving room for an extra room for the sailing wardrobe. A complete galley and bathroom with shower complete the Bente 39's facilities below deck and offer all the comfort you would expect on a long distance yacht.
