Cantiere del Pardo expands its Performance Series with the Grand Soleil 48, available in a Cruiser version and a Racer version.
The Grand Soleil 48 Performance is the latest model in the Performance series from Cantiere del Pardo. It combines comfort, quality and performance. The hull design and the sail plan by Marco Lostuzzi guarantee an optimal sailing performance and high stability of the 48. The interior and deck design of Nauta Yacht Design is simple and elegant and offers a high level of comfort.
Two target groups in focus Cantiere del Pardo aims at two target groups with the GS 48 Performance. The Cruise version of the 48 is aimed at cruising and blue water sailors who don't want to compromise on performance and comfort and who want to be on the water with the smallest crew. The Race version has been specially optimised for sports enthusiasts, has an extremely light construction and offers the possibility to remove the light furniture before upcoming regattas in a few easy steps, to further reduce the weight.
Differences in construction When designing their Race version of the Grand Soleil 48, the owner can choose between GRP sandwich constructions made of epoxy or vinyl ester resins produced by vacuum infusion. The hull and deck of the Cruiser version, on the other hand, are made from GRP full laminate and weigh about one ton more than the racing version.

Differences in deck layout Another difference is the deck layout of the two versions. The racing version offers six to eight winches, genoa and main sheets are led to winches on the cockpit coaming, the halyards and trim lines run inside the cabin roof on winches on both sides of the companionway, as usual with larger regatta yachts. In the cruiser version of the GS 48, the entire running rig runs on four winches on both sides of the double steering system within the cockpit coaming. On the one hand this has the advantage that the yacht can be sailed with the smallest crew and on the other hand the foreship remains free of lines and sheets and thus provides additional space for sailors to relax on deck.
Lightness and comfort below deck The layout below deck of the Grand Soleil 48 Performance is bright and friendly and when furnishing the shipyard pays attention to the use of a modular construction with light woods to save weight. In the foredeck there is a spacious owner's cabin with a large double bed and a private bathroom with separate shower cabin. The saloon is spacious and offers a large dining area with u-shaped couch and an additional couch with integrated navigation corner. The fully equipped, U-shaped kitchen is located at the companionway and offers plenty of freedom of movement. An additional starboard bathroom opposite the kitchen completes the saloon. In the aft of the GS 48, there are two further spacious double cabins equipped with large double beds. In addition, the aft of the Grand Soleil 48 Performance also features a dinghy garage in which a small dinghy can be stored sideways.
