The Southerly 435 was designed by Northshore and Rob Humphreys and has everything a good blue water yacht needs. The well-balanced hull shape with long waterline and wide stern provides solid seaworthiness and good sailing performance. She offers an impressive sail plan with a sail area of 73.62 m² and can be easily and safely sailed by a crew of two.
Suitable for shallow water Thanks to the double rudder system, which is operated from the steering position in the well-protected centre cockpit with high coaming and fixed sprayhood, the Southerly is very responsive and easy to manoeuvre. The propeller is protected by a strong skeg, which additionally strengthens the ground stability of the yacht. The optional bow thruster and stern thruster give the 435 an exceptional manoeuvrability that you won't want to miss in any marina. The swivel keel, which is mandatory for Southerly yachts, makes it possible to safely navigate shallow coastal waters and secluded bays with a minimum draught of only 77 cm at the touch of a button.
Fixed bathing platform The centre cockpit offers comfortable seating around the helmstand, from where all manoeuvres on deck can be controlled. A large folding table offers the possibility for convivial evenings on deck. The teak-covered deck is largely kept free of sheets and halyards, as the main sheet and halyards are led under the cockpit roof to the sheets on the cockpit. The elegant transom has a fixed teak bathing platform with integrated telescopic ladder and a freshwater shower.
Panoramic view below deck The large saloon area offers comfortable space below deck for six people and a separate navigation corner. Large window fronts in the deckhouse offer a unique panoramic view from here and bring natural brightness below deck. The kitchen, which is built alongside the port side, is generously dimensioned and offers work areas on both sides. The kitchen leads into the extremely comfortable aft cabin. A large island bed and two couches invite you to relax. A large wardrobe and en-suite bathroom with separate shower cubicle underline the high standard of the yacht. The forward cabin with its v-shaped sleeping berth, which can be extended to a double bed, generous stowage space and its own shower room in the cabin also offers a pleasant atmosphere at a premium standard.
