Looking back on the 2025 Florida tour with "Paddeln macht Spass"

Mild climate, turquoise waters, and stunning nature – that’s what awaited the group led by Lars Thierling on their SUP trip through Florida in February 2025. While winter still lingered in Germany, the participants paddled through crystal-clear spring rivers, discovered new landscapes, and experienced the Sunshine State from a truly unique perspective: standing on a SUP board.

Starting the tour in Cocoa Beach

The journey kicked off in Cocoa Beach on the Atlantic coast, where spring-like temperatures provided the perfect setting to settle in and ease into Florida’s rhythm. Afterwards, the group moved into their accommodation north of Orlando – an ideal base for the upcoming days of SUP adventures.

SUP adventures in Florida’s unspoiled nature

Paddling destinations like Silver Springs, Kings Landing, Wekiva Island, or French Landing offered a mix of tranquility, pristine nature, and small adventures. The water was so clear you could see all the way to the bottom, and with a bit of luck, you might spot manatees, turtles, or even an alligator. Time and again, wildlife encounters and the lush greenery of the tropical plant life sparked awe – a true nature experience on the water.

Shared experiences beyond the board

Beyond the SUP tours, there were plenty of opportunities to spend time together: tubing down the Rock Springs River, visiting the Kennedy Space Center, or watching the sunset from a board. The group quickly bonded – united by their love of the outdoors, the water, and the spirit of discovery.

The trip was organized and guided by Lars Thierling, whose expertise, experience, and instinct for the best spots ensured that everyone felt well taken care of. The mix of activity, relaxation, and a strong sense of community made the journey a truly special experience for many.
