A column-mounted slewing crane with a lifting capacity of 65 tonnes, model SPC65, is currently being built for the Wajer Yachts yard on the south coast of France. To mark the occasion, Roodberg had a 1:16 scale model made, on which all the specifications are clearly visible.
One of the special features of Roodberg cranes is that the slewing drive is located at the bottom of the column, which makes maintenance much easier. An inspection door provides easy access to all components inside the SPC.
The crane is fully electric, making it a 100% environmentally friendly alternative. The absence of a diesel engine means there is no noise and no exhaust emissions. Operation is also more precise and user-friendly.
All steel box sections of the SPC are watertight and the crane is equipped with four Roodberg wire rope hoists, designed for outdoor use in the toughest conditions.
Because the four-point lifting yoke is integrated into the horizontal arm of the SPC, the overall height can be as low as possible compared to a single-point crane. This can make it easier to obtain planning permission.
Taking all specifications into account, Roodberg designed the crane to be as compact and therefore aesthetically pleasing as possible.
Durability, longevity and low maintenance costs are key objectives in the design and production of all Roodberg products! This is achieved by using high quality materials such as stainless steel guide rails as standard, galvanised fasteners, stainless steel control boxes with ventilation and heating to avoid condensation and a very high quality two component paint finish that seals all cavities and matches the rounded edges of the components for optimum coverage.
The SPC65 model will be on display during BOOT Düsseldorf in Hall 7A on stand number G24 and the Roodberg team will be happy to provide you with more information about this or any other Roodberg product.
