Finland, renowned as a global boating nation, will make a strong appearance at boot Düsseldorf under the theme Boating Finland. The country of a thousand lakes and tens of thousands of islands presents itself as a unique destination for boating and waterway tourism – as well as a hub of exceptional boatbuilding expertise.
The Finnish presence highlights both nature-based travel opportunities and world-class marine engineering. On display are seven leading manufacturers of premium cruising and adventure boats, along with Swan sailing yachts, Remoran , a company specializing in innovative hydrogenerators for sustainable boating and electronic propulsion pioneer Oceanvolt .
The joint Finnish showcase at boot Düsseldorf is coordinated by the Finnish Marine Industries Federation Finnboat, which represents nearly 100% of Finland’s marine industry turnover and export value.
Unmatched variety of routes and destinations for boaters of all kinds
With its tens of thousands of islands and over 180,000 lakes, Finland is a paradise for boaters. From the labyrinthine waterways of the Lakeland region to the stunning marine archipelago stretching along the southern and western coasts, the country offers an unmatched variety of routes and destinations for boaters of all kinds.
Boating is deeply rooted in Finnish culture – it’s not just a pastime, but a way of life. With such vast and accessible waters, Finland stands out as a true boating nation, offering unique opportunities for nature-based travel, peaceful solitude, and unforgettable adventures.
Experiencing Finland in a New Way
At boot Düsseldorf 2026, Finland will be more visible than ever thanks to Boating Finland , a new research project that brings together the boating industry, tourism, and academic research. The project will present two dedicated pavilions at the event, offering visitors a completely new way to experience Finnish boats and waterways.
The aim of the Boating Finland project is to strengthen the global competitiveness of Finnish boat manufacturing and water tourism, promote innovation, and advance sustainability through research. During boot Düsseldorf 2026, the project will actively conduct research into the expectations, preferences, and behaviour of boating enthusiasts and potential tourists in international markets.
At boot Düsseldorf 2026, Boating Finland will construct a six-metre dome in Hall 1, where visitors can immerse themselves in stunning 360-degree visual experiences of Finland’s lakes, waterways, and archipelago. In addition, Boating Finland will be present in Hall 13 in collaboration with Visit Lahti Lakeland and companies from the Päijänne region, one of Finland’s most renowned lake areas. Here, visitors will learn more about Finnish water tourism destinations, services, and experiences.
The research project is carried out by Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences and is co-funded by Business Finland (80%). Nearly 30 Finnish companies from the boating and tourism sectors are co-financing the project. The initiative was launched in May 2025 at the initiative of PookiPro Management and will continue until August 2028.
