All trend sport operations, i.e. information, advice and sales, are being concentrated for the first time in the new Hall 8a (13,000 m²) right next to the North Entrance. This has made it possible to lengthen the flatwater pool by 15 metres and to make the wakeboard cable unit higher. The standing wave – “THE WAVE” – is being optimised for the larger hall too.
Well-known kite manufacturers – North Kiteboarding, ION, Airrush, Liquid Force and Brunotti – will be exhibiting their latest products, with representatives available to advise you.
Stars from the kiting community will be providing first-hand information on the stage and are happy to write autographs too.
Even more space – even more action
The new pool now covers an area of 1,400 m² and therefore has even more space to try out the latest wakeboards and SUPs. Professional wakeboarders from the Liquid Force team and from Wasserski Langenfeld will be performing their wakeboard show every day. Due to the new cable unit and the optimised obstacles, you can now expect even higher jumps and even cooler tricks. The tow-in windsurfing show will be an absolute premiere at boot 2018. Thanks to the higher 2.0 cable unit and the extended pool (now 65 metres long), freestyle windsurfers will be performing spectacular tricks in the first indoor tow-in show anywhere in the world.
It will also be exciting to see how the manufacturers will be presenting their new hydrofoil developments. Which foils have advantages and disadvantages in what conditions? The experts will comment on these issues on the stage by the side of the pool and will attempt an experiment on the pool – come and see for yourself what happens.
boot 2018 for kitesurfers
Kitesurfers can obtain information about their sport from such well-known manufacturers as North Kiteboarding, ION, Airrush and Brunotti and can buy products from the previous season in the same hall. And what kitesurfer is only a kitesurfer? Wakeboarding with a cable unit is good way to train new moves in the winter. You can come to the pool for wakeboarding without registering in advance. Neoprene suits can be borrowed free of charge; please bring your own swimming trunks and towel.
The German water sport schools association (VDWS) will be presenting a hydraulically driven kite simulator for kiteboarding newcomers. This is a way for you to experience what it feels like to jump into the air holding on to the bar – just like it is when kitesurfing out on the water.
boot 2018 for wakeboarders
boot 2018 will leave wakeboarders nothing to be desired. The manufacturers Liquid Force, Hyperlite, Follow, Brunotti and Ronix are presenting their latest products. Wakeboards and accessory equipment can be bought in the distributors’ section, which is also in Hall 8a. And anyone who prefers to be pulled by a boat rather than by a cable will find the newest tow boats in Hall 4.
Relaxing beats and delicious drinks
The music in the hall will start to get somewhat louder at 17:00 every day, when demand for the numerous seats in the lounge will be increasing. The perfect end to the day: simply relaxing in a deck chair with a cocktail in your hand.
Important news for bargain hunters
Many of the shops in Hall 8a are selling last season’s equipment at attractive prices. It is worth taking a look at Hall 12 too; in the Beach Life Zone there, you will find wetsuits and the right clothing for your next surfing trip.
Opportunity for visitors to surf THE WAVE
You want more action than just paddling or wakeboarding? Then demonstrate your surfing skills on THE WAVE! At boot 2018, THE WAVE will have two adjustable heights: a more gentle option for beginners and about 1.50 high and faster for experienced surfers.
Last year, about 1,500 visitors tried out THE WAVE designed by citywave® under the watchful eye of the experts. The slots for visitors can be booked as of December 2017. Further information can be found at thewave.boot.de.
