Specialist global logistics company Peters & May has announced a strategic merger with Peters & May Global Logistics to create a new breed of bespoke logistics solution.
The move will see the Southampton-based company, which has provided specialist logistics and consultancy in the marine sector since 1988, be able to offer clients a broadened solution across six new divisions: Global Boat Transport, Commercial Transport, Superyacht Transport, Racing Logistics, Freight Forwarding and Automotive Transport. The new look business will enable the company’s operational teams around the world to focus on specific customer needs and ensure that its high quality bespoke approach is consistently maintained, no matter whether they are transporting a superyacht, a hovercraft, racing car or hazardous cargo.
Peters & May CEO Dave Holley said: “Our news reflects the increasing buoyancy of the economy which is seeing many companies like ours make strategic investments to support the recovery of the marine industry and other sectors. It also reflects an ongoing global interest in the high quality personal services that, as an independent, we can provide.” He continued: “Broadening our reach and re-structuring the business in this way means that we can offer our high quality bespoke service to a wider range of customers; in fact to anyone that has freight, a seagoing vessel, vehicle, machine or aircraft that needs transporting internationally. Whether by sea, road, rail or air, our reach is truly global with a port-to-port or door-to-door, cost-effective solution every time.”
Peters & May reported a turnover of over €52 million Euros in 2015 and has wholly owned offices in the UK, USA, France, Spain, Hong Kong, China, Italy and Germany with partnership arrangements in Australia, Dubai, South Africa, New Zealand, South America, Belgium and Russia, creating an unprecedented global network for an independent business. New offices have been opened recently, including one in Italy’s busiest cargo port of Genoa, seen to be of strategic significance because it is a regular port of call for Peters & May shipments. The company is ISO 9001 accredited and is a preferred supplier to many of the world’s leading marine manufacturers. It also actively sponsors global marine racing in various forms.
News of the merger is being released prior to the Peters & May Global Strategy meeting, to be held at Dusseldorf Boat Show this week. Here, senior representatives from all offices across the world come together to discuss global strategy and share local market knowledge for a joined-up approach that directly benefits clients. Current and prospective clients are invited to find out more about Peters & May’s new and improved range of bespoke logistics solutions at the Dusseldorf Boat Show. Please join the team on their stand, Hall 7a E08, on Wednesday 27th January from 5-7pm for drinks and networking where CEO, Dave Holley, will be available for further comment.
