The boot team's anticipation is huge: after 42 years there will be a new diving tower at boot Düsseldorf 2021. The tower was designed and developed by architect and designer Jürgen Sütterlin from Cologne.
Sütterlin, who was already responsible for the design and construction of the boot's taster diving pool as well as for the "World of Paddling" with its canoe test track in 2012, has created a real marvel of stainless steel and acrylic glass with the new diving tower. Due to its special construction with slender steel struts and a large glass surface, the observer has an almost complete all-round view of what is happening in the water.
The tower is currently being completed at the plant of Andreas Berg Stahl- und Maschinenbau e.V. in Wiehl, North Rhine-Westphalia, after nine months of construction. With a volume of 200 cubic meters, it will be filled with 200,000 litres of water for the trade fair in Düsseldorf. It has a diameter of eight and a height of four meters. The diving tower will celebrate its inauguration on 17th April at boot Düsseldorf 2021.
boot Project Director Petros Michelidakis visited Andreas Berg's factory with designer Sütterlin on October 21st and was enthusiastic about the innovative construction of the diving tower
