On 25 January, the EuroTour SUP Indoor World Cup celebrates its premiere at boot Düsseldorf 2025 with its qualifying round. Top stars from around the world will compete in this event on the XXL pool in the surf sports world in Hall 17. The actual contest will then take place on 26 January from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and will be a high-profile conclusion to the trade fair.
Youngest competitor from Japan
Shuri Araki from Japan has travelled the furthest to be here. At just 18 years old, he has already made a name for himself among the best SUP riders in the world. The young rider excels in both long-distance and sprint races. In 2023, he became the youngest world champion in his division and remained unbeaten in 2024.
Professionals from France, Italy and Denmark are paddling on the XXL pool.
Among those competing against Araki is Arthur Arutkin from France. He, too, has had a significant impact on the global SUP scene and is known for his versatility. Also competing is Christian Andersen, an up-and-coming athlete from Klitmøller in Denmark. He discovered his passion for water sports at the famous surfer hotspot ‘Cold Hawaii’ in northern Denmark and has since achieved impressive success. He proved his skills as the youngest participant in competitions such as Red Bull Heavy Water, one of the most demanding SUP races in the world. And Paolo Marconi from Italy also wants to show off his skills on the XXL pool in Düsseldorf. His discipline is long-distance In races like ‘Last Paddler Standing’ he has not only demonstrated physical strength but also mental strength over 48 hours. He also works as a trainer to help beginners get into the sport.
Female SUP riders want to bring the XXL pool to the boil
The female SUP stars are also not shying away from the long journey to Düsseldorf. Maricarmen Rivera is coming from Cuba to get on the board at boot and show what she can do. She has already achieved success at the Pan American Games and other international competitions. Juliette Duhaime from Argentina is also taking part. Juliette dominated both sprint and distance races at events such as the Busan SUP Open and is one of the strongest and most versatile paddlers in international women's SUP. The Spanish paddlers Alba Alonso and Susak Molinero are aiming for a place on the podium in Düsseldorf. Alba Alonso has achieved an excellent ranking in the world rankings with numerous gold medals in the long-distance, technical and sprint categories. Since turning pro in 2015, Susak Molinero has also become one of the most important competitors on the European and global SUP scene.

The world's largest yacht and water sports fair
With more than 200,000 visitors from over 100 countries and 1,500 exhibitors on 220,000 square meters in Halls 1 to 17, boot Düsseldorf from 18 to 26 January 2025 is the world's largest yacht and water sports fair. Both sailors and motor boaters will find a wide variety of boats, dinghies, superboats or luxury yachts. The popular water sports of diving, surfing, kite surfing, stand up paddling, skimboarding or canoeing are available at boot in all facets and with the appropriate equipment. Attractive stage programs with the stars of the scene, the latest trends and a high-caliber mix of workshops and hands-on activities, both for leisure sports enthusiasts and experts, make the fair unique worldwide. But marine conservation and innovative, sustainable technologies are also in focus at boot 2025. In cooperation with the European Boating Industry (EBI), the blue innovation dock will offer a unique dialogue format with political, economic, technological and media expertise in Hall 10. In addition, two lighthouses for ocean protection will again be on board: The prestigious "ocean tribute" award with partners Prince Albert II. Foundation and German Ocean Foundation as well as the "love your ocean" campaign with its stand in Hall 11.
