Once again this year, traditional British brand Land Rover and the boot, the world's leading watersports trade fair, will join forces to offer customers from all over the world a first-class mobility service on-site. Both Land Rover and the boot stand for exclusivity, tradition and luxury. They also share a love of watersports and Land Rover models such as the Land Rover Defender* and the new Range Rover** are perfectly suited for hauling boats of various classes to destinations of choice. Land Rover will be the only car maker at the show to offer visitors the opportunity to take a closer look at its new Land Rover models. A special feature this year is the new Range Rover, which will celebrate its German premiere at the boot and make its very first appearance at a public trade fair.
The new Range Rover: consistent modernity, unmatched capability and towing power
Range Rover has long enjoyed an outstanding reputation as a highly flexible and luxurious towing vehicle. More than 50 years ago, Range Rover became the hallmark of the luxury SUV segment and has since then always been the ultimate in off-road vehicles. Then in late October 2021 in London, Land Rover unveiled the most advanced evolution of this iconic brand: the all-new redesigned fifth generation Range Rover. Under the motto "Modern Luxury by Design", the new Range Rover sets new quality benchmarks, effortlessly combining breathtaking modernity and aesthetic grace with technological sophistication and seamless connectivity - with space for up to seven adults for the first time.
On top of serene comfort and composure for every occupant, the Range Rover also features the technologies that make transporting boats and accessories a breeze. In addition to its permanent four-wheel drive, the extremely rugged construction is the main reason for its popularity among discerning customers with high towing requirements. With the optional electrically retractable and extendable trailer coupling, it has a towing capacity of up to 3,500 kg. When not in use, the trailer hitch disappears behind the bumper for a clean and streamlined look. Other technical features, such as the rear height adjustment, raise or lower the rear of the Range Rover for hitching trailers of all sizes. Coupling assistance simplifies the coupling process with the aid of the reversing cameras, while trailer stability assistance monitors the trailer while driving and prevents dangerous swaying of the trailer.
The Range Rover remains true to its origins with all its technical refinements and is at the same time ready for the future: It is available with a choice of efficient mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains and can be ordered now from January 2022 as a plug-in hybrid with a pure-electric driving range of up to 100km. An all-electric Range Rover will make its debut from 2024, as the first Land Rover model with zero exhaust emissions.
Off-Road Vehicle of the Year 2020: The Land Rover Defender
With its outstanding towing performance and versatile transport solutions, the Land Rover Defender is the perfect companion for all water sport enthusiasts. Since its market launch in 2019, the completely reengineered new generation of the British all-wheel-drive Defender legend has enjoyed overwhelming public resonance, and with its new technologies and rugged construction it turns every journey into an exciting adventure. And it can do more than any Defender that came before it. Because the new Defender doesn't just excel off-road, a trademark of the range for more than seven decades, the new edition of the 4x4 classic also excels with premium driving comfort on-road.
