At the half-way point of boot Düsseldorf 2019, the trade fair is proving to be extremely successful thus far. The almost 2,000 exhibitors from 73 countries report very good business and conversations with visitors from all parts of the world.
Windsurfing is alive and well at boot
"Windsurfing is back at boot," says Mark Thoms, Managing Director of Thommen Boards, a premium windsurfing provider, pleased with the response from visitors to the Beach World. "The enthusiasm for windsurfing, kitesurfing and stand-up paddling continues unabated. The standing wave "THE WAVE" and the Flatwater Pool at boot have contributed considerably to this", explains Starboard importer Florian Brunner.
Beach World instead of snow
Beach World spokeswoman Andrea Hoeppner: "All those who would like to make a trip to the summer in the coming days of boot should make their way to Hall 8a. We offer a real surf feeling and great board sports on pools and waves in a cool ambience. A good tip for the whole family".
Dropping out and switching off
You want to "drop out" for half a year and get a breath of fresh air - but don't have the possibility to organize such a project yourself? No problem. Urs Rothacher has recognised this gap in the market and implemented it with the help of his partners in the subsidiary Dream Yacht Sabbatical. Financial, technical and logistical problems and risks can be mastered in a relaxed manner with the company's consultants and coaches.
Fishing nets to bracelets
Fishing nets that went overboard or deliberately disposed of in open waters are among the greatest threats to our oceans. They become deadly traps for many sea creatures before they decay into many small dangerous parts. Bracenet wants to raise awareness and find a solution. Together with marine conservation organisations, they remove the nets from the seas and transform them into handmade bracelets.
