Marine protection, historical boats and sailing fun for kids
The focus in Hall 14 will be on participation and amazement. Kids can make their first sailing attempts in the boot Sailing School and the love your ocean booth offers a colourful programme on all aspects of marine conservation. In the Classic Forum, exhibits from the founding year of boot Düsseldorf can be admired and corks pop at the christening of a DGzRS lifeboat.

At the love your ocean joint stand in Hall 14 of boot Düsseldorf, visitors to the fair will be immersed in an interactive ocean. There are six theme islands with experiments and workshops and various activities to take part in. Nearly 50 players from business, science and society will present their solutions, product innovations and exciting exhibits there and on the love your ocean stage. This is the third time that boot Düsseldorf and the German Marine Foundation have been involved in the sustainable development of our seas, oceans and waters this year.

Reminiscences to 50 years of boot Düsseldorf
The Classic Forum also celebrates 50 years of boot Düsseldorf. Three boats represent the boat's founding year: the 22-skerry "Neptun Kryssarer", a sailboat of the type "Vineta I" and a P-class yacht. But of course the Classic Forum also has another highlight to offer for the visitors of the fair in 2019: the maritime auction.

In the boot Düsseldorf Sailing School, children and adults can get a taste of sailing air while opti-sailing in the water basin. Not only do the children learn the first steps on the boats, they are also given a brief introduction to the small entry-level boats and are allowed to quickly get on the water themselves. On land, an informative programme gives children and amateurs an understanding of the basics of the first sailing trips.
Sailing boats from the bag and ship christening
It only takes 15 minutes to set up the 2.80 m long, inflatable sailing boat TIWAL 2, which can be seen as a world premiere at boot Düsseldorf. Packed in two bags that weigh 40 kilos together, it can be easily transported. The boat is suitable for two children or one adult with a child. TIWAL was designed and developed by the French sailor Marion Excoffon and costs 4,790 euros.
A very special new rescue boat of the German Maritime Rescue Service (DGzRS) will get its name on Saturday, 19 January 2019 at 12:00 noon, the opening day of the 50th boot Düsseldorf. Even before it goes into service, the newest special ship of the sea rescue will embark on an unusual voyage to the world's largest water sports fair. From its Rostock shipyard on the Warnow, the ship will first travel by land to the Rhine and finally to its final destination - the Kiel Fjord, a popular destination for water sports enthusiasts.
