Watersports tradefair makes successful comeback

Registering nearly 237,000 visitors from over 100 countries and more than 1,500 exhibitors from 68 nations on 220,000 square metres in 16 exhibition halls, boot Düsseldorf reports back with impressive figures. The entire international industry was drawn to the Rhineland metropolis.

Big Willi

It stands quietly, directly on the Rhine, at river kilometre 748.2 and in the immediate vicinity of the Messe Düsseldorf exhibition grounds: Big Willi. With a total height of 12.7 metres and a total width of 11.4 metres, the orange crane is hard to miss. Big Willi will also be lifting around 30 boats out of the Rhine for boot 2023.

Unveiling the diving tower

The unveiling of the diving tower was a truly fascinating show. For the first time, we broadcasted the opening in a live stream. Via the boot homepage boot.de you could experience the formal opening ceremony with your friends and partners on Saturday, 21 January at 9:30 h. The round construction allows spectators a 360-degree view of the action in the water.

Honking

boot Düsseldorf asked the exhibitors of boats and yachts to sound their horns again for 15 seconds on the opening day shortly before 10:00 a.m. after an announced countdown and the words "boot Düsseldorf has open". How better a trade fair could start.

blue innovation dock

The blue innovation dock is the new platform at boot Düsseldorf that has brought together visionaries, investors and politicians. The new forum was a complete success. All recordings and press releases on the blue innovation dock can be found here.

dive award

Initiative for a strong and sustainable diving industry

In order to support the international diving industry even better, boot has launched the boot dive award. Five awards are presented annually in the categories Personality, Destination, Innovation, Product and Climate. The winners of the boot dive Awards 2023 were chosen for the first time at boot 2023.

8th International Breakfast Meeting

boot Düsseldorf and the European Boating Industry hosted the eighth annual International Breakfast Meeting on Tuesday 24 January 2023. On the theme of "Qualifications and skills: Addressing the current and future challenges", top-level speakers from the sector, associations and European institutions got together.

Boats premieres 2023

The shipyards and accessory suppliers offered a wealth of innovations on the sailing yacht and motor boat market in the new season. From fast lines, sustainable materials and alternative propulsion to cozy cruisers with good sailing characteristics, at boot Düsseldorf 2023 every owner did find his sailing yacht.
Small motorboats and large motor yachts with various types of propulsion, luxury tenders, shadow boats and super boats with their luxurious equipment celebrated their premiere at boot 2023.

With 12 hands-on activities and the Contest & Shows in Hall 17, visitors definitely had a lot to experience and marvel at. From diving in the new diving tower to the new trend sport of wingfoiling, 34 wind machines provided everything a sportsman's heart could desire.

Seminars and the boot cruise coaching

The boot motor seminar, which was offered by BLAUWASSER for the first time at boot 2023, was almost fully booked.
A charter seminar and blue water seminar were also on offer for the trade fair public. With the four experts in the free cruise advice, this offer was also over 90% fully booked.

Start sailing - Start boating

The ADAC, which offers a large service area for water sports enthusiasts with its skipper portal, provided individual advice on charter options for beginners and novices or people with no previous experience at the start sailing/start boating area.
The central questions of first-time boaters were answered by experts in an independent consultation for all those interested in boating.

Love your ocean

Many nature conservation organisations were on site at boot Düsseldorf for talks and to present current projects. The Nabu, The Seacleaners and the Technische Hilfswerk. Companies and projects that aim to protect water and the climate presented themselves on the "love your ocean" stage.

Classic Forum

Classic beauties of boatbuilding could be admired.

13 boats from different eras were exhibited in the "Classic Forum" of the 54th boot Düsseldorf: from sailing boats to dinghies to historical treasures. A special highlight was the 10th "Private Maritime Auction": from original maritime objects to real boats, a lot was up for auction.

Inclusive sailing day - DSV

On 28 January 2023, the German Sailing Association (DSV) organised the first Day of Inclusive Sailing at the boot water sports fair in Düsseldorf. Presentations, workshops and a panel discussion addressed the important question of how people with disabilities can get on the water and how sailing clubs can create an inclusive offering.

The winner of the "ocean tribute" Award 2023

This year's "ocean tribute" award was presented to "INNOVATION YACHTS". The prize money of 20,000 euros is provided by the Fürst Albert II Foundation and boot Düsseldorf. With their completely recyclable boat IY LBV35 they convinced the jury of experts
