Official driver's license for driving motorized pleasure craft on the maritime waterways (3 nm). Prescribed for vessels under engine with more than 11.03 kW (15 hp). Also prescribed for driving commercially used pleasure boats up to 300 meters from the shore with appropriate individual case approval.
Theory and Practice The theoretical exam consists of a questionnaire that tests sufficient knowledge of navigation, seamanship, maritime law, meteorology and vessel handling. In the practical examination, the theoretical knowledge must be implemented and applied on a boat under propulsion. Various maneuvers (including the rescue maneuver) and knots must be demonstrated.

Fitness: Presentation of "Medical certificate for sport boat license applicants"
Reliability: presentation of a valid motor vehicle driver's license (or certificate of good conduct/waiver for minors)
