Passing on positive sailing experiences to cancer patients
Marc Naumann, a cancer patient himself, was sure after long strains and painful therapies: "I want to sail." He wants to pass on the many positive experiences on board to future sailing rebels, so that they can regain strength and self-confidence while sailing after their therapy. That's why he founded the nonprofit organization.

Experience and enjoy pure life
Especially while sailing with other people, wind, sun and this special energy on board, you are able to experience and enjoy pure life again, instead of dealing with the eternal question of "why" and looking back at the past. On the high seas, everyday worries are quickly forgotten and new perspectives and plans for the future begin to open up.

Support from the sailing rebels
"Facing life's adversities, not losing your footing, no matter how hard the wind may blows," is Marc Naumann's intention. Every year, more than 120,000 adults in Germany are diagnosed with cancer. Due to good medical care, more than 85% survive this disease. However, the reintegration into a normal life is often difficult, the debilitating treatments have left their mark. At this point, the sailing rebels support!

Team spirit - Turning back is not an option
The sailing routes being offered include longer distances and, as far as possible, one-way trips. The idea behind this is to reach new goals with willpower and stamina - turning back is not an option. Team spirit also plays a major role in the sailing rebels, because if a storm comes up and the weather gets rougher, then every participant has to give their best. As a team you will be stronger. With these experiences, many everyday worries become very small.

The organization
The Segelrebellen are organized as a non-profit entrepreneurial company. Why? With this form of company, Marc Naumann can act flexible, independent and autonomous as well as make quick decisions. The company is more vital and can thus keep itself alive, i.e. it finances itself. The sailing rebels are simply different, just like rebels.
 
The idea of financing
Currently, the sailing rebels can fall back on invitations, i.e. boats are available for free. However, this means that the route and timeframe are limited, usually to just one week. In the long term, the trips will be offered with their own, ocean-going ship. Specially equipped and adapted to the needs and goals of the sailing rebels. The sailing rebels are grateful for every donation. But if you want to donate more, e.g. with 25 € a good pair of sailing gloves can be financed.
