A yacht of his own in the Mediterranean? Until now, this was not a consideration for entrepreneur Heinz Grabher. The acquisition and maintenance costs, as well as the personal effort, seemed way too high compared to the actual use.

With SmartYacht Fractional Ownership, Mr. Grabher found a solution that works for him: Since 2010, he has been sharing "L'Aventure2", an Azimut 70 SeaJet motor yacht at the Monaco location, with other yacht enthusiasts. After his first experiences on board, he is now taking a closer look at the key aspects of fractional ownership from the customer's point of view.

Fair system

"At the beginning, I had concerns about the division of use. Who gets to use the yacht and when? This challenge is solved by SmartYacht with a fair 3-season system, which means my time of use is divided equally between main, mid and low season. Within the season I am flexible and with the online reservation system I have always an overview over my yacht as well as the possibility to comfortably make long and short term reservations from everywhere", says Grabher.

Security

"An important aspect of fractional ownership for me is the security of ownership and independence from the other shareholders. SmartYacht separates the ownership and management company from each other, thus I am not affected in case of a default by SmartYacht or other owners. In addition, I am flexible regarding the sale of my share and I am not committed to the owner community for a certain period of time."

"SmartYacht actually makes dream yachts affordable. I would never have bought a yacht on the Mediterranean on my own. Having your own yacht means high costs and a very high personal stress. With SmartYacht I have all the advantages of having my own yacht, yet I am spared the high costs of buying and maintaining it. Service - No own effort

"Who takes care of my yacht? Does the engine work? How do I reserve a berth in Cannes? The aspect of personal effort is extremely important to me, because I can't often be in Monaco myself and I'm also not a yacht expert. As a shareholder, SmartYacht really takes care of everything for me (except for the payment) and offers me an all-inclusive-package: my yacht is always well-maintained and cleaned, so that carefree trips with friends and family are a true relaxation. Upon arrival, my personal belongings are in place, the bed is made up with my own bedding, and the supplies I wanted are stored in the refrigerator. The captain, who is on board the whole year, is always the one to contact and plans my yacht excursions in advance of my arrival. My previous stays on board of my yacht 'L'Aventure 2" were perfectly organized, from berths in guest harbors to restaurant recommendations in the area - every trip was an experience!"
