Water skiing is not only elegant and exciting, but a healthy outdoor sport in and on the water. Spectacular jumps, racing around buoys at top speeds of more than 90 km/h while slaloming, or the elegant trick skiing that resembles a dance on the water - water skiing offers all of this. In addition, all muscle groups are challenged: during balancing, launching and cornering, they constantly alternate between tension and relaxation and are thus ideally trained.
All beginnings... are easy! Beginners start with pair skis. After a short time, you can switch to the wakeboard instead of the pair skis or try slalom skis. Trick skiing, the high art of water skiing, requires some skill and experience. If you want, you can even do without skis altogether and try barefoot skiing!
History of water skiing In the beginning, water skiing was a pleasure for the rich. In the middle of the fifties the gradual transition to a competitive sport took place. From that time on, it took another 20 years until individual disciplines developed and water skiing became a popular sport.
Water ski cableways The first water ski cableway in 1966 was a welcome alternative to the boat and established its own competition division just a few years later. With about 50 cableway installations in Germany, water skiing can be done throughout Germany from March to October. Every year about 5 new facilities are added! If you want to water ski regularly, you are welcome to join one of the more than 70 clubs organized in the German Water Ski and Wakeboard Association.
