Stretching or Pilates on the SUP Board The course and training programme was developed on the basis of many years of experience in fitness and water sports with the support of the Sports Analysis Centre of the University of Lausanne. Thanks to its methodology and philosophy, the training enables even non fitness professionals to safely teach simple exercises and movement sequences in individual and group courses. It combines elements from functional strength training, spine training, stretching, yoga and Pilates and was specially developed for the European market. The technical SUP training is also an important component and is easily integrated into various exercises.
Requirements for the equipment As far as equipment is concerned, boards for fitness training and yoga are usually slightly larger and particularly stable on the water. However, the boards can also be used as touring boards. Especially here inflatable SUP's are suitable for a comfortable transport in spite of larger dimensions. A holder for the paddle ensures it stays in place during exercises. Mistral has developed an additional central platform for the Kailua Fitness and Yoga programme, to which the boards can be docked.
