Cala Boards

Nordic and New Zealand myths for 2022

The Mexican SUP brand CALA is starting the year 2022 with two new board models: With "Atla", a successful mix of all-round and touring board, as well as "Mana" as a versatile all-round SUP board, beginners and professionals can conquer any water. CALA was founded in Mexico in 2015 and offers durable inflatable high-performance boards in eye-catching design with lightweight carbon paddles. The mats of all CALA boards are made of algae foam. CALA boards are available in Europe, Great Britain and the USA. More info and shop at: www.calaboards.de

As part of the CALA Touring Series, the Atla Board is also suitable for demanding use in the sea and ocean: Thanks to the Point Nose, it cuts through the waves very well. The Atla is designed as a mixture of touring and all-round board. It is relatively short, so it is easy to manoeuvre even in choppy water. The blood-red Viking helmet with the two paddles on the black surfpad awakens courage and a sense of adventure in every surfer's heart. The name of the board is pure promise: In Norse mythology, the beautiful giantess Atla is the goddess of water.

The versatile all-around Mana model allows beginners and advanced SUP enthusiasts to conquer all waters with ease. The enticing wave motifs on the pad and tail are the name of the game with the Mana. The Austronesian term "mana" is best translated as a combination of presence, charisma, prestige, honor and spiritual power: The Māori believe that all people and many elements of nature possess mana.

"The mats on all CALA boards are made from algae foam, which is made from environmentally harmful algae blooms. CALA's commitment to clean water and a healthy underwater environment remains an important company goal in 2022, and one that we are excited to continue and expand upon. Our dream is to make the most sustainable SUP board in the world and we are constantly working on that," Sebastian Grazzini, founder of CALA, explains the future perspective of the brand. So far, CALA has collaborated with the Beyond Coral Foundation and the Ocean Concervancy organization, among others.
