Statement Petros Michelidakis Director boot Düsseldorf
Numerous interesting and exciting new features and changes are being introduced at boot Düsseldorf 2020. We would like to inform you about them today. What is already very obvious and has almost been completed is the construction of the bright, new and spacious Hall 1 right here next to the Messe Düsseldorf tower. Afterwards, our Chief Executive Officer, Werner Matthias Dornscheidt, will be giving you an insight into the fascinating building operations, the architecture and the capacity of the new hall.
The new layout for the various areas covered by the exhibits at boot 2020 has only been apparent on the hall plan so far.
Statement Werner M. Dornscheidt CEO Messe Düsseldorf GmbH
Let me begin today by quoting the man who was probably the most influential architect of the 20th century: Le Corbusier said “Both consistency and flexibility are essential in urban planning”. If we replace the word ‘urban’ by ‘trade fair’, then it is an accurate description of the new Hall 1. It goes without saying that we need to make sure that there is consistency in the buildings on our exhibition site. It is, however, also important that we provide scope for individuality, customisation and flexibility. All the halls on the site guarantee maximum comfort for our exhibitors as far as their functionality and technical facilities are concerned. Their configuration varies individually, however, and says a great deal about the year in which each of them was built.
The new Hall 1 and the growth in some of the areas covered by the trade fair made it necessary to adopt a new layout for the event. The exhibitors are very satisfied with the outcome.
Since boot Düsseldorf is the biggest water sports trade exhibition in the world, it has a very important place in the trade fair calendar of both national and international companies. Düsseldorf is where the foundations are laid for the forthcoming season. boot therefore has high economic significance for the entire industry.
Numerous interesting and exciting new features and changes are being introduced at the next boot Düsseldorf from 18. to 26. January 2020. The biggest water sports trade fair in the world will be taking place with a new layout, providing visitors with an attractive routing system and direct access to the topics that appeal to them and everything that is associated with these topics.
Master plan for modernisation strengthens trade fair as economic factor for Düsseldorf and its international standing
Messe Düsseldorf GmbH is currently carrying out one of the most ambitious construction projects in the history of the company: at the end of 2019 not only a new multi-functional hall with conference facilities will have been built, but also a fully glazed new entrance south complete with a translucent, LED-lit canopy roof and adjacent underground parking. As a result one of the most state-of-the-art and multi-functional trade fair locations and convention venues will come into being in the southern part of the Düsseldorf exhibition centre meeting both the highest architectural and functional standards. The blueprint for the work comes from the Düsseldorf based architectural company slapa oberholz pszczulny architekten.
