Hoist the sails, set the course and let the sailing adventure begin. At this year's „boot Düsseldorf" visitors again have the possibility. In hall 15 there is a 25x10qm large water basin. Wind machines provide the right breeze and let sailors glide over the water. Whether young or old, everyone can start their own adventure at boot Düsseldorf. If you don't want to go out on the water, you can listen to the programme of the boot Sailing School.
School with a difference During the week pupils from surrounding schools conquer the waters on the boat sailing school during the action "boot4school". In the morning they swap the classroom with the water basin and learn the basics of sailing through five different stations. With an introduction to knotting and the construction of a boat, the children learn how to handle a sailing boat. A safety training on a life raft gives the adventurers a feeling of security when going out on the water. But before that, they practice on the simulator on the dry, only then are they allowed to apply what they have learned on the water. They will be supervised by experienced sailing instructors from Unterbacher See.
Sailing for young and old All visitors can get on boats from the edge of the pool in the afternoons and weekends of the week and experience their own adventure on the water. Simply register at the sailing pool and get into the optimists. Whether with or without experience, the sailing instructors will help you and everyone to get a beautiful sailing experience.
If this is still too fast for you, you can try RC (Radio-controlled) sailing after "boot4school". These fast, up to 1.2m long regatta boats are radio controlled and with a recognized class association of the DSV, supported by Heinz Bohn (from Deutschen Klassenvereinigung RC-Segeln) the visitors experience an exciting and dry sailing experience.
More than just water - a varied supporting programme on stage Directly adjacent to the water basin is the stage of the boot sailing school. As in previous years, the presenters Noemi Niestrath and Christian Zeelen provide entertaining and informative program items.
