Impressions of the Travemünde Week 2024
Long-standing, trusting partnership
Thanks to their long-standing partners and equipment suppliers, such as boot Düsseldorf, who accompany the event, the organisers of Travemünde Week ensure that the international guests get their money's worth. The organisers have built up a trusting relationship with the sponsors in recent years and can rely on good cooperation.
Travemünde Week Reception at boot Düsseldorf
Every year in January, this can be seen when friends and sponsors gather at boot Düsseldorf for a Travemünde Week reception at the trade fair stand and indulge in culinary, visual and acoustic delicacies in anticipation of the upcoming sailing spectacle.
Location advantage Travemünde
Lübeck Bay is one of the largest German regatta areas. From Neustadt to Wismar there is a continuous sea area. Every year between 2000 and 3000 sailors and surfers take advantage of the fascination and opportunities that the Lübeck Bay offers here at Travemünde Week as one of the largest water sports events in the world.
The sailing area Lübeck Bay
The Lübeck Bay area offers unique conditions for top-class sport: the highest measured current speed measures 16 centimetres per second and thus has no influence on sailing. The prevailing wind direction is from west to south-west during the sailing season from May to October. The flat coastline around Lübeck Bay has no terrain elevations that could influence air movements. With 90% probability, the wind is above two Beaufort, but below seven Beaufort - the average wind speed is between three and four Beaufort. In other words: perfect sailing conditions!
Good logistics on land
Travemünde also has excellent infrastructure on land: Right in the centre of Travemünde is a state-of-the-art regatta station with numerous communication facilities, with rooms for race committee, jury, coaches and press. Around the regatta station there are several hundred water and land berths, which are available for race events. The regattas at sea are supported by our own ships and state-of-the-art communication technology.
