„Classic Forum“ of boot Düsseldorf

 

The annually changing program of the "Classic Forum" includes exciting lectures, films, panel discussions and handicraft courses for hands-on experience. A special highlight is the 10th "Private Maritime Auction": from original maritime items to real boats, a lot will be up for auction. In addition, numerous boats from different eras will be presented in the "Classic Forum", thus illustrating the developments in boat building over the course of time. Rummaging in antiquarian bookstores, you can find interesting reading.

12 boats from different eras of boat building are exhibited in the "Classic Forum" of the 54th boot Düsseldorf: From sailboats to dinghies and historical treasures. Look forward to a completely refurbished "Trintella", a sleek "Riva" motorboat still looking for a restorer or a Swedish Snipa powered by an electric motor. Even a steamboat is exhibited. Also worth seeing are boats built after 2000, made in the classic style and on display.

In addition to the boats and rarities on display, visitors to the fair can experience maritime crafts in action at the booths. Have a look at sailmaking, the making of ropes and "FancyWork". This includes, for example, the carving of figureheads or the creation of maritime paintings. A model maker also makes and presents lighthouses on site.

"Short courses"

In order to complete the field of shipbuilding, the "Classic Forum" also organises workshops, so-called "short courses". In these courses, first the theoretical part is dealt with on a separate stage and then the hands-on part is taught at the exhibition booths. The duration of these courses is between 30 and 60 minutes in total, and visitors to the fair are cordially invited to become active themselves.

Varied program

On the stage of the "Classic Forum", a varied program with a wide range of contributions on the subject of boat building will once again be presented during the fair. The lectures on historical, traditional and classical topics will be presented in cooperation with competent experts as well as scientists, and be accompanied by film footage and pictures. Panel discussions with audience participation on frequently discussed topics complete the presentations program.
