19 yachts in five different categories have the chance to win the coveted award " European Yacht of the Year 2020" at boot Düsseldorf. Most of the nominees are of course yachts whose shipyards will be represented at the upcoming boot Düsseldorf.

Announcement of the winners at the flagship night of boot 2020

At the start of boot Düsseldorf 2020, the motto is once again: "And the winner is..." One thing is already clear: it will be exciting! The coveted awards are traditionally presented at the Flagship Night, the industry evening of Delius Klasing Verlag and Messe Düsseldorf on the first Saturday of boot Düsseldorf. A special highlight is that the nominated yachts can also be viewed in detail in the exhibition halls! The jury evaluated sailing performance, comfort, construction quality, price-performance ratio, design and unique technical features of the yachts.

Nominated yachts of boot exhibitors:

Family Cruiser

In the Family Cruiser category, yachts are evaluated in regard to their design and sailing characteristics. The focus of these yacht designs is on cruising with friends and family or for blue-water cruising.

Performance-Cruiser

As the name suggests, Performance Cruisers are yachts designed for sporty sailing and regatta courses, but still offer all necessary comfort on board for longer holiday trips.

Luxury-Cruiser

In the luxury cruiser category designers focus their attention on the particularly comfortable and luxurious equipment of nominated sailing yachts. These rather large boats in the upper price segment are ideally suited for long-distance cruising.

Multihulls

The umbrella-term multihulls refers to catamarans (two hulls) and trimarans (three hulls). These yachts offer an enormous amount of living space and extremely safe sailing characteristics with a great speed potential.

Racer-Cruiser

This category will be awarded for the first time this year. Because of the high attractiveness of the new designs represented here, it replaces the category Special Boats in this year's competition.
