With the RUND UM during the Lindau Sailing Days, boot Düsseldorf supports a unique long-distance night regatta with a time limit of 24 hours, which is held on Lake Constance against the overwhelming backdrop of the Alps. But not only the scenery of the RUND UM is impressive.
The main event of the Lindau Sailing Days in June is the long-distance night regatta RUND UM, in which sailors have to complete a course around Lake Constance within 24 hours. With the Alpine panorama in the background, the approximately 400 boats of the RUND UM perform the biggest mass start in Germany!
Impressive performance
It is an impressive show when on the evening of the first regatta day more than 400 sailing boats turn Lake Constance off Lindau into a sea of white sails and go to the start to open the fight for the Blue Ribbon. The larger boats have to cover a distance of 100 kilometres, the smaller yachts follow a shortened course around Lake Constance. Whether last year's winner will be able to defend his title and win the battle for the Blue Ribbon from Lake Constance will be decided one day later, when all boats have completed the night regatta or the time limit of 24 hours has expired.

Largest & longest regatta on Lake Constance
The Lindau Sailing Club is expecting 400 to 500 ships with about 2,500 sailors every year at RUND UM for the largest and longest sailing regatta on Lake Constance. The course always begins and ends at Lindau. Each year it is decided whether the regatta course is to be sailed clockwise or counterclockwise. Since the regatta was also opened for high-tech yachts and catamarans, the interest of the racers has grown from year to year, especially with the catamarans strong increases are noticeable. All keelboats with a length of 6.50 metres or more and a crew of at least three are eligible to participate in RUND UM.
Varied entertainment programme ashore
During the regatta, which has existed since 1951, there is of course an extensive accompanying entertainment programme for sailors and spectators, including a maritime flea market, competitions, live bands and an evening programme. On Sundays the final award ceremony for participants and their guests will take place in the Inselhalle RUND UM of the Lindau Sailing Club, where the winners will be honoured with the 'Blue Ribbon of Lake Constance'.
