Attractions and activities for the youngest visitors at boot

Once again, boot 2027 offers a variety of activities for children: Kid's World, a high ropes course at the canoe track, workshops at Love Your Ocean, the Sailing School, free childcare, and much more. On this page, we've listed all the activities for kids.

boot Düsseldorf offers a varied programme for families.

Free admission for children (≤13 years)

Children up to and including 12 years receive free admission to the world’s largest yacht and watersports show and do not need to register in the ticket shop.

Whether it’s mermaiding in the diving tower, skimboarding, stand-up paddling, canoeing or sailing in an Optimist dinghy: at boot, kids can have fun not only by the water, but right in it. Book your free slot starting December 2026!

Hands-on activities

Kid's World

In the Kid’s World, bouncy castles and a sandbox are available for younger children. Restrooms and a changing room are located nearby.

“Finni” plush whale

New: our boot plush toy “Finni”. The cuddly whale brings the boot feeling straight into your child’s bedroom and is available online.

Kinderwerft

The Classic Forum showcases numerous boats from different eras, illustrating the evolution of boatbuilding over time. Children can also build their very first wooden sailboat. The activity is available throughout the day.

Sailing School

Hoist the sails, set your course and let the sailing adventure begin. At boot Düsseldorf, the Sailing School awaits you in Hall 15, Stand G43, featuring a 25 x 10 m pool and wind machines.

Love Your Ocean

The “Love Your Ocean” initiative, in partnership with the German Ocean Foundation, invites visitors to join in and, together with more than 75 participants, demonstrates how industry, science and society are already protecting the oceans and the climate today.

Maritimes Klassenzimmer

On the weekend, the “Maritime Classroom” hosted by the Aquazoo Löbbecke Museum becomes an interactive experience for young and aspiring researchers alike, featuring exciting water experiments and freshwater creatures under the microscope.

High ropes course

At the World of Paddling, the high ropes course is open to children from a height of 1.40 metres. Climbing is available daily and no advance registration is required.

Police boat

The Water Police will once again be represented at boot 2027. Duisburg Police will present a Rhine patrol boat, which is especially popular with younger visitors.
