Both the youngest sailors with their families, first-time sailors and more experienced recreational captains can gain their first sailing experience in an Optimist during boot 2026. Participation is expressly encouraged! Naturally under the expert supervision of experienced sailing instructors from Unterbacher See. In addition, there will be a varied stage program and valuable tips for beginners at the boot Sailing School.

Live demonstration: What to do in the event of water ingress?

In addition to the exciting reports of sailing adventures, the important topic of water ingress will be discussed in detail on stage and live at the water basin. The 8-meter yacht "Meri Crash" serves as a test object. Visitors can put their skills to the test and repair the leak by simulating a real leak.

Rigging contest – Who is the fastest?

The rigging contest promises to be exciting once again: who can get an Optimist dinghy ready to sail the fastest? Visitors are welcome to join in and put their skills to the test. Supported by experienced sailing coaches, there will be valuable tips and tricks so that everyone has the chance to be at the forefront. Whether you're a beginner or a pro, what counts here is speed, skill and a dose of fun! So join in, cheer on the competitors, get excited and maybe win the title of fastest rigger at boot Düsseldorf 2026!
