The old diving tower was proudly in use for 42 years on boot Düsseldorf and inspired experienced divers as much as beginners. Now it has served its time and will be replaced by a new, ultra-modern tower. During the construction, the responsible architect Jürgen Sütterlin focused on modernity and functionality. The tower consists of slim steel struts and large acrylic glass surfaces. Its capacity is 200,000 litres of water. The round construction allows spectators a 360-degree view of what is happening in the water. With a diameter of eight metres and a height of four metres, the new diving tower is an impressive eye-catcher that will not only inspire divers.
