Lucky winners experience a memorable boot Düsseldorf 2018
Detlev Gande is the lucky winner of our raffle at the boot.club with an exclusive VIP champagne reception at boot Düsseldorf on the luxury yacht Princess 35M as the main prize.
Accompanied by his father-in-law Ernst Pietschner, Detlev Gande came to Düsseldorf to experience boot 2018 from a very special perspective. The official boot Düsseldorf VIP shuttle was already waiting at Düsseldorf main station to chauffeur the two guests to the convention centre in befitting style in a noble Mercedes. As appropriate for real VIPs, photographers, organizers and attendants were already waiting for their arrival at the love your ocean activity area in hall 4.
With great interest our two guests were listening to Frank Schweikert, chairman of the German Ocean Foundation, who explained in great detail all about what is happening at the moment to protect our oceans. Both guests were quite aware already that a lot has to be done to safeguard our environment. Yet they were still thrilled to get a renowned expert's perspective on current technological developments in ocean protection.
Then, the main prize of the boot.club raffle was waiting in hall 6! First, the pair was accompanied directly into the noble business lounge at the stand of PRINCESS Yachts. Following a typically English, very polite welcome by Princess' International Sales Manager Bill Barrow, they were invited to take a seat and served a glass of champagne. Our winner, Detlev Gande, himself sales manager of the company "Gande - Living with style and enjoyment", could not have chosen a better companion at the boat show than his father-in-law, who was soon in the middle of an intense conversation with the UK sales manager in perfect English. They discussed both technical details of the yachts as well as issues of yachting lifestyle.
Dreaming of dream-like cruises
A grand tour of the beautiful, white, 35-meter-long Princess 35M superyacht from George Town followed the champagne reception. The twelve cabins on board were inspected intensively, and on the bridge the guests let their eyes wander towards the horizon. Of course, the stunning technology at the helm station was also examined in detail. "Oh, yes," Gande said, "I would indeed like to go cruising on this dream of a yacht with my family." Pietschner added with a wink: "Dreaming must be allowed...".

It was only in 2014 that the pensioner and long-time boating enthusiast infected his son-in-law with the sailing virus. Various boating license tests have since been passed successfully, and by now no doubt remains: The Gande family "has to get out onto the water somehow every year".
This is one of the reasons why the family became members of the boot.club. Also, on topics around Düsseldorf they are writing in their own blog - because Düsseldorf is so close by and has a great atmosphere as a city. On top, Detlev Gande and Ernst Pietschner publish a travel blog („becuase it is fun“) and a food blog („becauce it is tasty“) and, as already mentioned the Düsseldorf Travel-Guide („because we simply love the place“).
After two intense and thrilling hours, our two boot.club VIPs were released for further maritime adventures and discoveries at boot Düsseldorf 2018. Definitely on their schedule: The Travel World in Halls 13 and 14 to gather information for their planned charter holiday in Greece later this year. The fantastic VIP experience at boot 2018 will surely be remebered on board their charter yacht then.
