The island of Bohol, still an island almost untouched by tourism (except Alona Beach in Panglao Iceland), gives its visitors a feeling of a world in which time has stood still. There is no distinct rainy season - Bohol is a rather dry tropical island with little rain and a very pleasant climate. Temperatures vary only a few degrees throughout the year. The water always provides pleasant immersion temperatures between 27 ° C and 29 ° C.
Time for travelling From the traveller's point of view, the year on Bohol is divided into two seasons. The ideal time for travelling to Bohol is from November to May, as the rest of the year is more humid. From July to September increased amounts of rain have to be expected. Depending on the El-Nino-situation, the rainy season can be very intense or be left out almost completely. In the months of September, October and November typhoons are possible, but Bohol is very rarely hit by one, as the island lies below the typhoon belt.
Diving spots Without any problems you can dive or snorkel to the house reef of Cocowhite Beach Resorts on Bohol directly from the sandy beach. Many of the dive sites are rugged cliffs that drop down up to 40 m in depth and are beautifully covered with sea fans and other corals. The underwater fauna consists of lionfish, scorpion, bat and mandarin fish, colorful sea slugs, the famous Blue Ring Octopus and many others. The Anda peninsula on Bohol is home to one of the healthiest fringing reefs of the world and offers diving experiences in paradisiacal conditions. The reef is home to over 915 different fish and over 460 hard and soft corals. As for biodiversity under water, the Philippines is one of the most important areas of the entire world.
Here we go again! Since mid-June the worldwide travel ban for tourists has been lifted again – at least partially. So the holiday season can begin, even if the destinations have shifted a bit.
Stressless diving Short journey times with the Banka, a native outrigger, ensure stressless diving. In sandy soil, which sometimes starts in 16 m depth, countless well-camouflaged sand eels, crocodile fish and bluespotted ribbontail ray hide. This beautiful underwater fauna with its intact and colorful coral gardens makes this dive site so unique and offers excellent photo opportunities. The 3-5 mm small pygmy seahorses pose a very special challenge in this sense.
