Combination of Motorsailer and Performance Cruiser
With the Coast 250, Swallow Yachts presents a trailerable combination of performance cruiser and motor sailer. The 250 is the first boat of a planned 3 series from 21 to 29 feet length and reaches up to 15 knots when engine powered.
The Coast 250 combines first class sailing performance with a range of powerful engine options. Not only can you enjoy the benefits of a modern performance yacht, but you can also benefit from the flexibility of a boat with a powerful engine, whether you want to be independent of the tide or move quickly to other sailing areas.
Innovative Swallow Yachts, thanks to its collaboration with the Wolfson Unit of Southampton University, has succeeded in combining innovative engine placement and selection with a distinctive hull shape. A 70 hp outboard engine is housed in a shaft directly behind the keel and fitted with a soundproof cover. This means that the 120 kg are installed exactly where the ballast is needed for a yacht.
Advantages In addition, an outboard motor saves considerable weight compared to an inboard motor with the same performance. With the large 70 HP engine, the Coast 250 achieves an impressive 15 knots without having to cut back on sailing performance. A side effect of the engine, which is located at the centre of the boat, is that it is virtually invisible and can therefore not attract the attention of thieves.

Space below deck Below deck the Coast 250 is surprisingly spacious for a yacht of this size. In the midship she offers a kitchenette with two-burner gas stove, fridge, sink and a bathroom with toilet, washbasin and shower. The spacious saloon with folding table serves as a living, dining and sleeping area and offers plenty of room for two people to spend the night. Two comfortable seats in front of the closed foreship cabin have fold-away backrests, extending the sleeping possibilities in the fore cabin, which can also accommodate two people.
Flexible thanks to trailer Another advantage of the new Coast 250 is that it is easy to trailer. As with all Swallow Yachts, the dimensions and weight (incl. engine) of the 250 Series have been designed to ensure that the boat remains trailerable. The advantages are obvious: Transporting the boat on a trailer keeps costs low and makes winter storage easy. But perhaps it is much more interesting that transport by car considerably increases the variety of accessible sailing destinations.
