Minicat now complements the existing model range on the lower end with the new inflatable catamaran Minicat Guppy, which is only 3 metres long.
The new Minicat Guppy expands the portfolio of the inflatable catamaran supplier, which currently consists of the three models Minicat 460, Minicat 420 and Minicat 310, by a further boat and completes the line at the lower end. Like its predecessors, the Guppy was developed in collaboration with the well-known sailor Laura Dekker and offers a new construction concept.
Ready to sail in only 10 minutes The trampoline of the Guppy model is for the first time firmly connected to the two hulls and also remains attached when folded. This new principle reduces the assembly time for the ready to sail Minicat Guppy to just 10 minutes compared to the other models. A further advantage of this small model is its low weight of only 26 kg, which makes transport extremely easy.
Easy transport - simple assembly The catamaran, which is suitable for two persons, is transported rolled up in a stowage bag (165x30x30cm) and is therefore particularly suitable for spontaneous sailing adventures. The construction of the Guppy is also very simple for the untrained: roll out the hulls and trampoline, insert the two 1.50 metre long keel fins, inflate both hulls, insert the centre tube and rudder, put the three-part mast together and pull it into the sail and place it on the water and you're ready to go.
Sporty Sailing The Minicat Guppy can be sailed very fast and sporty with the right wind. The boat glides and reaches speeds of up to 15 knots. Thanks to the minimal weight of the boat you can sail well even in weak winds. Due to the long keel fins the Guppy sails stable and does not get out of control. An additional advantage of the fins is the low draught, which makes it possible to sail with the Minicat Guppy in shallow water and inland waters.
