The winners of the #bootmemories competition are the married couple Julia and Martin Roos with daughter Anna Viktoria (2 1/2 years). They met on boot Düsseldorf 11 years ago, have been married for a long time and have a sweet little daughter. Hall 3 is their element - both are passionate divers.
Julia and Martin got to know each other through the online platform "Studi-VZ" and found out through the diving group that they shared the same hobby. Hours of diving conversations took place before they decided to meet "live" at boot Düsseldorf.
It clicked at boot 2008 However, it had actually already clicked while writing, and through the meeting at boot 2008 both confirmed and "fixed" their sympathy for each other, says Martin; at that time 27 years young and computer science student. In the same year, Julia, then 28, moved from Cologne to Martin in Kiel because he had forwarded a promising job advertisement to her - in Kiel, of course. Even a six-week expedition kept the fresh relationship going, even though it was very difficult to communicate with one' s sweetheart on board at the time.
Diving connects Both have been divers since the 1990s; "because diving goes without saying when you are a biological-technical assistant and work in the field of marine sciences," says Julia, who is now 38 years old. Her father, grandpa Werner Hommer, is actually "to blame for everything" because he made her dive. In 2013, Martin had secretly asked him for permission to ask Julia "the one, decisive question". And so, how could it be otherwise, Martin proposes to Julia during a diving course.
Petros Michelidakis, Director boot Düsseldorf, and Vera and Thomas Geisel, Mayor of Düsseldorf, took the opportunity to greet the young family.
11th personal boot-anniversary Since then, boot Düsseldorf has been a compulsory joint event every year, of course. Today, on Saturday 19th January 2019, they celebrate their 11th "boot" anniversary. Naturally, they have also become members of the boot.club. "For the best information it was a must", says Martin with a wink.
"I usually don't take part in competitions," he continues; "but for our anniversary and the big jubilee of boot Düsseldorf, and the beautiful story we can tell about boot Düsseldorf, I just wanted to give it a try.

boot Düsseldorf - marriage - child And it worked with winning! "boot Düsseldorf - marriage - child; that's a wonderful story," says the 37-year-old father in love. "We spend 80% of our time at the fair in Diving Hall 3. We simply only make very, very slow progress in the hall; because at almost every stand we know someone or we are approached because they know us as a couple of divers, and now there is a little mouse with us...". In August 2016, Anna Viktoria was born into the water sports family.
Exclusive guided tour at Princess Yachts This year, as part of the invitation to boot Düsseldorf, there was also a visit to the super yachts in Hall 6 and, of course, to the boot.club Lounge. At the stand of the British Princess Yachts an exclusive guided tour with Kiran Jay Haslam, Marketing Director of Princess Yachts, over one of the noble super yachts from Plymouth was waiting for our winners.
biggest common denominator: boot Düsseldorf By the way, the 2008 admission ticket is protected at all costs; "It has already moved twice and hasn't been lost", the couple proudly tells us: "Our biggest common denominator is boot Düsseldorf!
