Kuhnle and Römer are on a Parallel Course - The Chairmen of two hireboat fleets announce a strategic partnership.
Two of the biggest hireboat fleets in the Mecklenburg Lake District are heading in the same direction: Yachtcharter Römer and Kuhnle-Tours have joined forces in a strategic partnership. The intention is to deliver more effecient use of recources across both organisations, particularly in the digital area and the marina infrastructures.
By the start of the season, several boats of Yachtcharter Römer will be stationed, maintained and handed over to hirecrews at the Kuhnle-Tours-Base of Hafendorf Müritz (ashore of Germanys biggest Lake). The Yachtcharter-Römer-Base in Fürstenberg (Havel, Brandenburg Lake District) will remain the responsibility of the Römer team.
All boats across the Römer and Kuhnle fleet will be bookable via the Kuhnle-Tours reservation service and web-based booking engines.
The addition of the Dutch-steel cruising yachts to the Kuhnle-Tours fleet is a significant expansion. It is expected, CEO Manfred Römer will be able to reduce his day to day responsibilities.
The economy of the German Lake district is directly affected by water tourism. Professional boat maintainance and repairs are an important part of the industry because this kind of work generates year-round, rather than seasonal, highly qualified jobs and revenue.
The base in Priepert in the Mecklenburg Lake District is a popular destination and will remain as a location for boat rentals of Kormorans, Febomobil and other boats of the fleet. Even though the lock of Zaaren will be reopened in Spring 2020, the long term building lot has cut off the Mecklenburg Lake District for over a year from the Berlin Waterways for boats.
„Priepert is conveniently located for weekend cruises to Neustrelitz and Rheinsberg“, says CEO Harald Kuhnle.
The old cities where Kings and Queens have been in residence are popular destinations for boaters.
The Base in Zehdenick in the brand new marina will remain and there are even more options for oneway cruises north of the German capital of Berlin.
Canalboat specialist Kuhnle-Tours starts the 2020 season with a new cruising area on the River Peene. In Malchin, right at the beginning of the river Peene, will be the comfortable canalboats of the Kormoran class, as well as the wheelchair-accessible Febomobil class for rent. Once on board you can enjoy 100 kilometers of idyllic river landscape until you reach the city of Anklam.
On the river Peene, all cruises are licence-free, but from Anklam down to the backwaters Kormoran crews will need the boaters licence for saltwaters or the appropriate licence of their home country (no boating licences may be required).
Oneway cruses to the Kuhnle-Tours bases in Berlin-Zeuthen and Zehdenick (Brandenburg) are possible. More information is provided in the new English brochure „Boating and Cruising“ and can be downloaded from our website (LINK einfügen) or collected in person from, Hall 13, D 57/59.
Kuhnle -Tours previously operated in the area from 1998 to 2007. The spacious Kormoran Canalboats of the company owned boatyard are perfectly equipped and classified for the use of internal waterways and protected coastal waters. The river Peene is rightfully known as „The Amazon of the North“. The beautiful Lake Kummerow rental location in Malchin has a well-connected train station, only 600 meters walk from the base.
