System Atlantic

The Atlantic system is a modular steel pontoon solution. The robust frame is hot-dip
galvanized and is suitable for use in coastal marinas or exposed inland waters. It can
also be upgraded with a reinforced frame and connections for use in more
exposed locations or for commercial applications.

Technical information
Loading
The standard stabilized vertical live load for system Atlantic is:
- Walkways: 150 kg/m2 (between ducts);
- Fingers: 100 kg/m2.
The load capacity of the walkways can be increased to
250 kg/m2 (between ducts) with the addition of an extra concrete float.

Corrosion protection
For high corrosion locations the standard galvanized frames can be supplied with an additional epoxy paint treatment.

Cleats
The mooring cleats are in cast aluminum. There are connection points for the cleats every 0.5 meter along both sides of the main walkways. AF4 to AF8 fingers have 4 cleats, AF9 to AF10 fingers have 6 cleats. AF11 to AF12 fingers have 8 cleats.

Structure
Each component has a welded steel frame structure, comprising standard sections and a specially rolled edge
C-section for the walkways. The frames are hot-dip galvanized after fabrication with a minimum coating of 610 gms/m2.

Decking
The pontoons are decked with profiled 21x145 mm Massaranduba hardwood which is fixed with stainless steel screws to hardwood spines. Other kinds of wood, synthetic or hot-dipped galvanized steel decking can be supplied.

Fenders
Standard walkways come with hardwood bullnose fender (45x123 mm). Standard fingers are supplied with hardwood fenders (AF4-AF6 = 45x95 mm & AF7-AF12 = 45x123 mm). A grey PE-plastic fender is fitted at the ends of the fingers.

Connections
The walkway/walkway and the walkway/finger connections are made with semi-flexible rubber bolted joints.

Floats
The walkways are provided with DF type concrete floats manufactured under ISO 9001 and KOMO quality controlled conditions. The fingers are equipped with RF type polyethylene floats (see our Floats leaflet for full specification).

Service ducts
All walkways are supplied with continuous service ducts down both sides with a cross section of 90 x 175 mm. The duct covers come in 2m lengths and are made of anodized aluminum. This allows easy top entry to the service ducts. The service ducts can be fitted with an optional plastic liner.

Pile Guides
The pile guides are available in two standard sizes.
- APG1: Piles up to 350 mm Diameter;
- APG2: Piles between 350 mm and 508 mm Diameter.

Freeboard
The system has a standard minimum unladen freeboard of approx. 500 mm.

System Laguna

The Laguna system is a modular aluminum pontoon solution. These modern pontoons are very durable and practically maintenance free. They are suitable for sheltered locations where there is a high risk of corrosion.

The standard stabilized vertical live load capacity for system Laguna is:
- Walkways:150 kg/m2 (between ducts);
- Fingers: 100 kg/m2.
The load capacity of the walkways can be increased to 250 kg/m2 (between ducts) with the addition of an extra concrete float.

The Laguna system is especially suitable for sites where there is a high risk of corrosive action.

Cleats
The mooring cleats are cast aluminum. The walkways have a connection rail along both sides allowing cleats to be fitted in any position. The rail is hidden by a timber top fender which needs to be site drilled once cleat positions are determined on site. LF4 to LF8 fingers have 4 cleats, LF9 to LF10 fingers have 6 cleats.

Structure
Each component has a welded aluminum frame structure, comprising standard sections and specially commissioned extrusions. The aluminum is type 6082 T6.

Decking
The pontoons are decked with profiled 21x145 mm Massaranduba hardwood which is fixed with stainless steel screws to hardwood spines. Other kinds of wood or synthetic decking can be supplied.

Fenders
Standard walkways are supplied without fenders. Hardwood fenders (28 x 120 mm) or white plastic fenders can be supplied on request. Standard fingers are supplied with hardwood fenders (21 x 93 mm). A grey PE-plastic fender is fitted at the ends of the fingers.

Connections
The walkway/walkway and the walkway/finger connections are made with semi-flexible rubber bolted joints.

Floats

Inter Boat Marinas floating Atlantic and Laguna pontoon systems are supported on two types of float: The DF-float is a heavy displacement concrete float used to support the main walkways. The RF-float is a roto-moulded polyethylene float used mainly to support finger pontoons.

Fixings

Concrete DF-floats
Each float is fixed to the walkway by 4 no. 16mm diameter stainless steel bolts screwed into sockets cast in the top corners of the float and welded to the reinforcing. The float is handled using special ’cast in’ lifting eyes.

Polyethylene RF-floats
The float is fixed through the top flange at the corners by 4 no. M12 bolts each with a backing plate.

Materials

Concrete DF-floats
The floats are filled with expanded polystyrene, grade LDVB with a density of 11 kg/m3 and with a maximum water absorption factor of 6%.The concrete is 40 N/mm2.
The floats are reinforced with stainless steel bar type 316 and glassfiber.The standard floats have a neutral concrete colour, but can be supplied in other colours on request.

Polyethylene RF-floats
The float casing is moulded from medium density polyethylene and filled with expanded polystyrene grade LDVB with a density of 11 kg/m3 and a water maximum water absorption factor of 6%.The standard floats are grey but can be supplied in other colours on request.

System Interfloat

The Interfloat 2500 concrete pontoon is designed for marinas and commercial applications where high bearing capacity is needed. The construction is very strong and practically maintenance free ensuring a long service life, of at least 40 years. The pontoon features a profiled deck surface providing functional non slip properties and an attractive finish. The Interfloat 2500 can be moored either by piles or sinkers and is designed for economic freight and installation.

System Breakwaters

The breakwaters are fabricated from high quality concrete with hot-dip galvanized steel reinforcement and are of heavy duty construction. They have good wave attenuation properties ideal for use in sheltered coastal areas, rivers and inland waters. The breakwaters have low maintenance requirements.

Standard units: Breakwaters can be supplied in four standard widths.

Breakwaters type 2700 (concrete width 2,4 meter)
- M2716: 16,1 x 2,6 x 1 meter - 17,4 ton
- M2720: 19,9 x 2,6 x 1 meter - 21,8 ton

Breakwaters type 3300 (concrete width 3,0 meter)

Technical information

Loading
The standard vertical bearing capacity of our breakwaters is:
- Type M2700: 530 kg/m2 (over the full concrete width of 2,4 meter);
- Type M3300: 550 kg/m2 (over the full concrete width of 3,0 meter);
- Type M3800: 610 kg/m2 (over the full concrete width of 3,5 meter);
- Type M4300K: 600 kg/m2 (over the full concrete width of 4,0 meter).

Structure
The breakwaters are manufactured with K40 watertight concrete and reinforced with hot-dip galvanized steel.
All steel fittings are hot-dip galvanized steel or stainless steel (AISI A4) quality.

Fenders
Both sides of the breakwater are provided as standard with Angelim Vermelho hardwood fenders, size 95 x 145 mm and
spaced 10 mm off the concrete.

Connections
The units are connected with heavy semi-flexible rubber bolted joints.

Service ducts
Plastic service ducts can be incorporated in the concrete units during manufacturing. Water and electricity modules can be connected to the ducts by drilling holes through the deck.

Anchors
With pile guides or chains or Seaflex with concrete anchors.

Freeboard
The breakwater systems have a standard minimum unladen freeboard of:
- Type M2700: approx. 530 mm;
- Type M3300: approx. 550 mm;
- Type M3800: approx. 610 mm;
- Type M4300K: approx. 600 mm.
