Snorkeling is definitely the most enjoyable activity above the spectrum of colors just under these waters. The bays, reef walls and off-shore reefs along the coastline are some of the most pristine underwater habitats in the world. It's very common to run into turtles, reef sharks, or dolphins anywhere along the coastline.

When snorkeling from the shore it is important to only enter the water from a designated area like a bay (marsa) or lagoon (halk). Crossing the back reef to enter the water can be dangerous and we recommend that you wear adequate skin protection (from the sun and against abrasions) and rubber-soled booties when entering the water.

Wadi Lahami Kitesurfing Center is located 10km South of Hamata in Egypt’s Deep South. More and more kiters and windsurfers are choosing the Southern Red Sea as their preferred destination with its constant wind and sandy lagoons making it ideal for all levels. While some of the more well-known spots have become overcrowded, Wadi Lahami Kitesurfing Center remains intimate and welcoming with no shortage of space on the water. The bay is large but quiet and private with a sandy bottomed lagoon directly in front of the beach, ideal for launching and landing kites at all levels.

Beginners will appreciate the ease of access into the protected lagoon, while experienced kiters have the freedom to kite away from the bay where during the season you will find some very challenging waves.

During this trip you experience the desert in the company of Ababda Bedouin. We start the trip in the afternoon with a short drive to bring us to their camels. After a camel-ride through the scenic landscape we reach our stop where we enjoy the light show of the setting sun disappearing behind the mountains. The Ababda prepare Bedu-style coffee, tea and their traditional bread that is baked in the sand.
