Greenpeace was founded in 1971 and has national and regional offices in over 55 countries. More than three million people support us worldwide, including more than 630,000 sustaining members in Germany.
Greenpeace is an international environmental organization that fights with direct non-violent actions for the protection of the natural basis of life of humans and nature and justice for all living beings.
Greenpeace educates, researches and confronts. The organization represents the interests of nature and environmentally conscious people in politics and society. In doing so, it tackles problems tenaciously - even against resistance and over longer periods of time. Greenpeace lives the right to freedom of expression, including the right to demonstrate, and also seeks public confrontation with politicians, corporate operators or environmental destroyers. By making the problems public, the pressure on those responsible in politics and business to rethink and act grows.
