Company portrait
Alfred Bauer (1902-1984) founded an Angora rabbit breeding farm in the 1920s. Even at that time it was known that the Angora hair had great health and functional value. In the years 1936-1945 the produced wool had to be delivered compulsorily. Only after the end of the war was it possible to process the wool again.
1954 his son Ulrich Bauer (born 1933) founded a commercial agency. Agents sold Angora products from house to house. The company was based in Kemnat/Fildern (today Ostfildern).
1968/1975 Conversion of the sales department. A catalogue is produced describing our special offers and enabling our customers to place an order in writing.
1976/1982 Gradual build-up of own production through subcontracting.
1978/1979 Introduction of EDP, number of customers approx. 28,000. Conversion of the sole proprietorship into a GmbH (limited liability company). Relocation of the company to larger premises in Deizisau.
1982 INES and ULRICH BAUER jr (both born 1958) join the management.
1989/1994 Establishment of our own almost fully integrated production facility in Deizisau. This gives us complete control over the production process. Number of customers meanwhile approx. 80,000.
1996 Ulrich Bauer sen. retires from the management due to age.
1998/2002 Expansion and supplementation of production with special machines and use of new fine yarns. These enable the range to be extended to include the latest functional clothing.
