About us

Company portrait

About us
The charter and tourism office of Sailing Blue Yacht is licensed by the Greek National Tourism Organization under license number 0208E70000443801 and is run as a sole proprietorship by Mr. Periklis Gkikas, operating since 1998.

Periklis is a captain himself and sails 15-20 weeks a year with guests and friends (watch his video)

A few words from Periklis:

Sailing was my hobby for many years. I would always invite friends to sail together and I would constantly think about what I could do to make them happy and keep them coming back. So I always had company on my trips. In fact, everyone was thrilled and said that the boat trip was the best thing they had ever done.

When I decided to turn my hobby into a career, I didn't have to think much, I would follow the same recipe.

Providing hospitality was easy, it is one of the strengths of many Greeks, it was easy for me to do it and also find partners who would feel the same way.

Our main concern:

What can we do to keep you excited and coming back or recommending us to a friend?
Treat you as our best friend and offer the famous Greek hospitality. And that's how it seems to work, with most of our guests we become friends and stay in touch for life.

How can we design and suggest an unforgettable itinerary?

Are the beauties of Greece, the bright sun and the blue sea enough elements for an unforgettable trip? And if so, how can we make it even better? Through the constant trips to the Greek seas, we know our homeland from beginning to end, our unique islands, the main villages, the picturesque ports, the quiet bays, the enchanting beaches, the best taverns with traditional Greek cuisine.

How can we tell what suits your needs and desires?

Having worked in multinational companies for many years and having experienced different people and cultures, we knew that what we think is good is not necessarily good for someone else with a different culture. We had to get this message across to all our colleagues and find ways to find out what you want from your trip. Do you prefer adventure or a leisurely trip? Do you prefer the cosmopolitan life or the quiet life in beautiful landscapes?

Our constant travels with visitors from all over the world have given us the experience to recognise people's different needs and desires. In the end we had many alternative routes and options around a tribe. to ensure everyone is happy. These options are discussed both before and during the voyage, with changes possible at your discretion.

And what about the weather conditions, is your route always safe and comfortable?

This is perhaps one of our strongest advantages. Understanding the weather conditions and their possible evolution requires deep knowledge and experience of the local conditions. The design of the best possible itinerary is always weather dependent and many alternatives are suggested. Even if you are not travelling with our crew, you can still benefit from our experience and assistance in planning a sailing route.

How can we ensure that our boats are in the best condition?

We entrust the operation and maintenance to experienced certified craftsmen, while the inspection of our private vessels is carried out by the international certification company Lloyd's, with technical partners available for corrective support throughout the Greek islands.

About our team:

Periklis is a skipper and one of the yacht partners, you can meet him during the Winter Boat Shows all over Europe and in the summer you can sail with him either in a flotilla or on the same yacht.

Marian is also a skipper and one of the yacht partners and most of all she likes to combine family life with office work, taking care of all the necessary details and bureaucracy to support your trip.

Milena represents us at the European boat shows, she is there to support you and inform you about yachts and travel in Greece

Anna represents us at the European boat shows, she is there to support you and inform you about yachts and travel in Greece

Giannis is our technical manager, he takes care of delivering the right yacht in the right condition.

We could go on here with names of people involved in our efforts, but we believe that the strength of our processes, assure that the level of service you receive is independent of the names and people involved. You can see what our guests say about us on our reviews page.
