Introductory diving

Can I come for a taster dive?
For many of us a successful trial dive was the first step into diving. Before you have experienced it yourself, you don't know how beautiful it can be to float weightlessly under water.

Therefore you are always invited to a trial dive! Of course you will be supervised by an experienced diving instructor. And of course, the trial dive is free of charge and without obligation.

For adults:
The trial diving is best on Tuesdays in the indoor pool Eller, there we have the deep pool available. We will organize the equipment for you.

For children and teenagers:
Children and teenagers better try diving on Sundays in Eller. Here also trains our children's group and the specialists for the very young divers are in the hall.

Please contact our training manager Alexandra for all questions and wishes regarding introductory diving: ausbildung@duc-duesseldorf.de

Our training team is looking forward to train you according to the latest VDST guidelines. With fun and great expertise, from introductory diving to the gold badge and in many special courses. For beginners, complete diving equipment is available free of charge during the training.

Education

Well-founded training with a lot of fun
In our diving club we train according to the rules of the Verband Deutscher Sporttaucher e.V., VDST. and the international association of sport divers, CMAS. The diving certificates ("Brevets") of the CMAS are recognized worldwide.

All basic information about the VDST/CMAS training system can be found here.

The current training dates of the DUC can be found here: Activities and Dates.

Besides the fun of diving, we focus on the safety aspect: In order to be able to dive safely, you need to gain experience - and this can only be achieved through regular diving, practicing and training. With our training offers from the very first trial dive to the experienced "gold diver" - or even diving instructor? - and many themed special courses, there is sure to be something for everyone! Our diving lakes offer the opportunity to "deepen" what you have learned without much effort.

A solid basic training is especially important for "beginner courses". The quality of the training decides about the further course of your "diving career". The better your basic training is, the safer you will feel - and thus have even more fun practicing your hobby.

Diving for children in the DUC Düsseldorf

Our children's group has about 30 members at the moment! There is swimming pool and diving training, common activities at the lake, exciting excursions and much more.

Our youth leader is Lucia, who is available for all information: jugend@duc-duesseldorf.de

Sundays from 14:00 o'clock (water time until 15:30 o'clock) our special training takes place in the swimming hall at the Kikweg - in good weather or during the holidays sometimes at the Oerkhaussee. Of course our trainers and instructors are specially trained to look after children!

Depending on age and ability level, there is something for all children:
Training is done with mostly ABC equipment. So that it does not become boring, we make games and arrange the time very varied. We dive through hoops and use all kinds of toys such as swimming noodles, rings, swimming boards, balls and other things.

And at the end of the year there is always a special training.... (sometimes even Santa Claus comes by).

Training for children

Our youngest and youngest are especially close to our hearts. We offer different trainings for children.

It starts from 6 years with the popular snorkel badges:
> otter
> seal

After that there is - similar to the adults - a stepwise system of courses, which build on each other. From the age of 8 you can start. There are courses for scuba diving and also for apnoea diving:

Diving courses for children

In addition, there are also other useful offers for children, for example, how to dive from the boat. Here you can find an overview:

About us

Company portrait

Our club was founded in 1954 and is with about 350 members the biggest and oldest diving club in Düsseldorf. As broad as the spectrum of our members is - from schoolchildren to seniors, from trainees to academics, beginners or sea hares, male, female or the whole family - we are united by the passion for our sport and the fascinating underwater world.

With our offers and the excellent infrastructure there are best opportunities to meet nice people with similar interests under and also above water.

The DUC-Düsseldorf is a member of the VDST - Verband Deutscher Sporttaucher - CMAS Germany. Our active diving instructors ( TL 1 to TL 4 ) train according to the worldwide recognized guidelines of VDST / CMAS. The practical training takes place in the indoor swimming pool and different open waters, e.g. our own lakes and in Holland.

We place particular emphasis on thorough and safety-conscious training.
