Our products

Product category: Outboards Electric

Ultralight boat engines

for kayaks, canoes and very light boats

The name says it all - the lightest Torqeedo outboard motor weighs just 8.8 kg including battery and takes anglers to the best spot for the big catch.

At the same time, the e-motor is so easy to operate and quick to mount that anglers can concentrate fully on their sport.

In addition to plenty of power and a range of up to 100 km, a newly designed bracket is convincing.

The new bracket facilitates mounting, operation and transport.

Further individual mounting options make the electric boat motor compatible with many well-known kayaks - including those from Hobie, Grabner, Prijon and Rotomod.

Travel outboard

for dinghies, dinghies and daysailers up to 1.5 tons

With its integrated lithium battery and its outstanding efficiency, the Travel is the alternative to the small petrol outboard. The Travel can do everything a 3 hp outboard can do. But it is lighter, cleaner, quieter and more comfortable.

The Travel pushes dinghies, dinghies and daysailers up to 1.5 tons easily and - when it comes down to it - really far.

With the Travel 1103 C, the motor line gets a top model with direct drive and a powerful 915-Wh battery. Compared to the base model, it has 73 percent more capacity and a correspondingly long range.

More power and more comfort - while the noise level continues to decrease. The engine noise of the 1103 C is only 33 dB. This is equivalent to a human whisper and makes it the quietest engine in its class.

About us

Company portrait

A plot of land on Lake Starnberg. A wooden boat. An electric outboard motor.

The operation of combustion engines is severely restricted on Lake Starnberg. So Gardena managers Dr. Christoph Ballin and Dr. Friedrich Böbel came to look at electric boat drives. What they found: No high-tech products, no industrially manufactured drives, instead a market opportunity.

At the time Torqeedo was founded, terms such as cleantech and electric mobility had not yet been coined. But the fact that electric drives will become more important in the future was already obvious in 2004 in view of the worldwide population growth, the growth of the global middle class, limited oil reserves and efforts to limit global warming.

And since a good idea is also a commitment, Torqeedo was born - in view of the lack of competitive products on the one hand and the future significance of electric drives on the other.
